This identifies the individual user and activates their personal health profile on their smartphone. The unit, which clamps discreetly onto the rim of standard toilets, uses optical sensors and algorithms to analyze a person’s hydration, gut health and can detect blood in the toilet bowl with precision. Armed with this information, users can modify their habits to achieve better health outcomes.

Befitting the refined appearance of the product – a shout-out to Rafael Rexach, head of design for Kohler Health – the event was held at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
