Coverings took place last week in the always entertaining city of Las Vegas, and KBB attended the official VIP Press & Influencers Tour hosted by Tile of Spain, Ceramics of Italy and the Tile Council of North America.

As we have learned over the years, ceramic tile is hypoallergenic, plastic-free, easy to clean and water-, scratch-, stain-resistant. It also offers limitless designs when it comes to choosing a surface for your clients’ kitchens and baths.

Above photo: Monopole is following the “Jade Terrain” movement with its green tile offerings.

The tile offerings at the show did not disappoint, and we learned about several trends shaping the future of porcelain and ceramic design from designer Alena Capra, the Coverings 2026 Industry Spokesperson and Ambassador.

This is all about touchable tile designs that reflect attention to detail, including stitching and carved effects.

Coverings, the largest international tile and stone event in North America, has announced seven Best Booth Awards for the 2026 show in Las Vegas, including three Best in Show awards, three Best Display awards and one Best Stone Display award. The annual awards program recognizes exhibits with exceptional creative and visual materiality experiences for showgoers.

“The booth craftsmanship and display ingenuity the exhibitors evoke on the show floor make Coverings a highly unique opportunity for attendees to be inspired by tactile and aesthetic spaces,” said Jamie Rich, Coverings managing director. “From new tile and stone collections thoughtfully presented to immersive exhibits designed with architectural elements and passthrough walkways, there is no shortage of innovation.”

A panel of tile and stone industry leaders selected the seven standout booths to spotlight as this year’s Best Booth Award recipients, though the caliber across the entire show floor is truly impressive.

Above, Ceramica Del Conca (Booth 1614) received Best in Show for its immersive design that brings visitors on a sensory journey. Attendees visiting Ceramica Del Conca’s booth are greeted by the eye-catching exterior, covered with three-dimensional red stone and illuminated by LED lights hidden behind mirrors with primal shapes. Large surfaces flank the floors and walls of the first three rooms in the exhibit space, highlighting the three-dimensional effect of porcelain stoneware stones. The exhibit space also spotlights seven tile collections, including the Dinamika Stone Edition collection and Dimore collection.

A Best in Show award was also granted to (above) Stonepeak Ceramics (Booth 6234) for its storytelling design, “The Magical Journey,” which illustrates how the company has transformed ceramics over time through innovation, sustainability and design. The entrance to the booth showcases an immersive journey that passes through a magical portal, beyond which visitors are offered a new interpretation of ceramics and led into a space of perceptions. The design transforms reality, and a perfect balance that plays on perspectives is revealed. Attendees enter the exhibition space, where porcelain dress stairs, vases and columns are installed upside down to represent an altar-universe and heaven-like experience. A Material Library is available inside the booth and features Stonepeak’s entire range of ceramic and porcelain products, including terrazzo-looks, marble-looks, stone-looks and more, showcasing the diverse product range of colors, thicknesses, formats and finishes.

Above, VIVES AZULEJOS Y GRES (S.A.) (Booth 819) was also honored as a Best in Show winner. The company’s vibrant display, showcased through ceramics, is inspired by the striking impact one experiences when visiting Las Vegas. VIVES has conveyed this through its Surf collection, which offers a wide variety of decorated tile in multiple formats and colors. Key features of the booth for attendees to enjoy include two towers that simulate with tile the illuminated signs of Las Vegas as well as a central corridor, highlighting the full color range offered by the Surf collection. Two other collections creatively displayed are Tandem Wood and Duo.

Ceramica Rondine – Bottega (Booth 1145) earned one of the Coverings 2026 Best Display honors. Attendees visiting the booth are guided through a series of interconnected rooms, each displaying different ceramic and porcelain offerings from the company. A standout space within the exhibit is the Japan-inspired room, which displays a variety of Ceramica Rondine – Bottega’s wood-look tile collections and is centered around a vibrant cherry blossom tree. Select other collections on display include Pastel X, Portland Rock and Vibe.

Another Best Display award was presented to Decocer (Booth 833) for its “Echoes of the Earth” design by architect Héctor Ruiz Velázquez. The booth was created as a fully immersive experience inspired by the primal qualities of clay and the natural world. The entire pavilion functions as architecture made of ceramics, rather than using traditional panels or displays, allowing visitors to walk on, touch and inhabit the materials. In the central space of the booth, ceramic columns, clad in earth-toned tiles, emerge from the clay walls. The curved, flowing forms of the stand create an organic and natural spatial experience to showcase eight tile collections from the company, including Talya and Eterea.

Wonder Porcelain (Booth 4439) also received a Best Display award. The company’s impressive exhibit showcases warm colors, technical finishes, new product sizes and in-house mosaics, and each room of the booth features a different feel and experience. It was designed to display Wonder Porcelain’s product offerings via the walls and floors. A highlight of the booth is the black and white checkerboard floor, featuring the company’s new obsidian-black Tuxedo™ Porcelain™ Collection and bright-white Arctic Style Porcelain™. Wonder Porcelain’s Taj Opus™ collection is also on display, which captures the timeless character of Taj Mahal marble through a thoughtfully reinterpreted, shimmering and nuanced design.

The Best Stone Display award went to ANTOLINI® (Booth 7833) for its striking exhibit designed as a contemporary village, conceived by designer and creative lead Alessandro La Spada. The concept invites visitors to follow the story of natural stone – from its origin in the quarry to its transformation into refined architectural surfaces. The space invites visitors to see luminous backlit walls, refined kitchen surfaces and the expressive finishes of the Texture+ Collection. In a dedicated space of the booth, these innovations reveal how technology can elevate stone, unveiling unexpected textures and depth. Coverings 2026 attendees touring the space can discover more than 20 of Antolini’s natural stones, including Cipollino GreyWave and Irish Greene®, both part of the Exclusive Collection.

Decocer’s installation has been awarded the Best Booth Award at Coverings 2026. Under the title “Echoes of the Earth,” the stand, designed by Héctor Ruiz Velázquez, is conceived as a material-driven manifesto that celebrates expressiveness.

Decocer’s collections stand out for their material-focused and contemporary style, where small formats, reliefs and textures are combined with palettes ranging from neutrals to bold tones.

At Coverings 2026 in Las Vegas this week, Decocer’s stand is located within the Spanish Pavilion organized by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones. The Best Booth Award, one of the show’s most prestigious recognitions, was awarded for the proposal, which is accompanied by a carefully curated selection of collections that reinforce Decocer’s international positioning in the field of small-format ceramic design.

Ceramics as a spatial experience

Designed by Héctor Ruiz Velázquez, the stand is conceived as an installation that goes beyond its exhibition function to become a true architectural experience. Through a material-driven and contemporary language, the space explores the ability of ceramics to shape atmospheres, create spatial sequences and engage the visitor’s sensory perception.

The proposal highlights the expressive potential of small-format ceramics, demonstrating how repetition, relief and texture can transform the material into a powerful architectural resource. In line with Decocer’s philosophy, the stand is conceived as a versatile system, capable of adapting, evolving and engaging in dialogue with different contexts.

Featured collections: material, texture and color

Decocer’s proposal at Coverings brings together a selection of collections defined by their material character, tactile richness and compositional versatility. Small-format tiles emerge as a language capable of shaping contemporary projects with a distinctive identity.

Featured collections include Eterea, a reinterpretation of marble through lightness; Lythos, stone in its essential state; Mood, which uses rhythm and color as design tools; Sienna, featuring the warmth of fired clay reinterpreted in a contemporary key; Talya, highlighting craft tradition and contemporary expressiveness; Vibe, offering graphic energy and compositional precision; and several others.

With more than 35 years of experience, Decocer has established itself as an international reference in the design and manufacturing of custom small-format ceramics. Its ability to tailor shapes, colors, finishes and reliefs positions the company as a strategic partner for manufacturers, distributors and specifiers in more than 20 countries.

Its participation in Coverings reinforces its commitment to the international market, particularly North America, where demand for versatile, expressive and high-quality ceramic solutions continues to grow.

The MILEstone Stories designer collaboration concept continues with Nicole Jordan, design director at PBK Architects in Houston, for Stories: Chapter 4. Daydream, the new porcelain tile collection resulting from the collaboration, will make its official debut at Coverings 2026, on March 30 in Las Vegas.

Stories by MILEstone continues its mission to “Give a Voice to the American Design Community,” celebrating creativity and collaboration through a series of designer-led collections. Each chapter brings a unique perspective from a member of the design community, translating their ideas and philosophy into a distinctive porcelain tile collection that reflects MILEstone’s commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and meaningful storytelling through design.

As design director of PBK Architects, Jordan brings extensive experience across multiple sectors including civic, workplace, aviation and education. Guided by her belief that good design should be equitable and inclusive,

Nicole’s approach emphasizes wellness, safety and flexibility — principles that also inform her vision for Stories: Chapter 4, the Daydream Collection.

For this collaboration, Jordan draws inspiration from a biophilic design philosophy, exploring the relationship between nature and the built environment. The resulting concept reflects a sense of calm, balance and connection, translating inspiration from the natural world into a porcelain surface designed to bring harmony and tranquility into interior and exterior spaces. And as a new addition to MILEstone’s Carbon-Neutral portfolio, this collection honors the beauty of the natural world without impacting it.

The Stories concept originated from MILEstone’s Design Advisory Council (DAC), a group of distinguished designers selected for their insight and influence within the American design community. Each year, DAC members submit collection concepts for consideration, with one selected for development with the MILEstone design team.

Previous Stories collaborations include Jennifer Farris of Bandura Design for the Bestow Collection (Chapter 1), Michele McMinn of Gresham Smith for the imprint Collection (Chapter 2) and Sarah Rink of Design Cooperative LLC for the Untamed Collection (Chapter 3).

Coverings has released the top 10 tile trends for 2026. The newly announced trends offer a glimpse of the inspiring tile product displays that will be featured at Coverings 2026, scheduled to take place March 30 to April 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The tile trends were selected by Coverings’ three leading sponsors and international tile associations – Ceramics of Italy/Confindustria Ceramica, Ceramic Tile Manufacturers Association of Spain (ASCER)/Tile of Spain and Tile Council of North America (TCNA) – to spotlight the most favored and chic product designs from the global tile industry.

Coverings spokesperson Alena Capra, CMKBD, owner of Alena Capra Designs, worked closely with the associations to identify this year’s trends.

“The trends highlight tile as both a creative medium and a high-performing design-build solution, pairing bold visual expression with the real-world demands of durability, hygiene and sustainability,” said Capra. “Above all, it is a celebration of the talented global tile industry driving the business forward — and the remarkable possibilities it provides.”

Capra, alongside a panel of industry experts, will discuss the annual tile trends at Coverings 2026 during the “Global Tile Trends” session, March 30 from 11 a.m. to noon PDT. The panel will dissect the freshest aesthetic, technological and sustainable innovations emerging from the world’s tile powerhouses, revealing the key looks that are defining contemporary design. Attendees will gain a sneak peek into the materials, designs and techniques that are shaping the tile industry in 2026.

Additional trends-related activations, education sessions, panels, presentations and live demonstrations will be available at Coverings 2026 for interior designers, architects, contractors, installers, fabricators, distributors, retailers and other tile and stone professionals. The program includes a variety of AIA–accredited courses on March 31. Attendees can learn more by visiting the full program schedule online.

The following 10 tile trends of 2026 are summarized in alphabetical order as follows:

1.) Articulated Accents: The Articulated Accents tile trend celebrates the synchronized harmony of graphic precision and outward design articulation, crafting tiles that engage the senses. Advanced glazing and contour-detailing techniques create surfaces that evoke the feel of anything from soft leather to textured sandstone, complete with stitching-like details or pitted striations. The result is a layered, immersive experience that responds dynamically to light and touch, bringing warmth, visual depth and subtle sophistication to interiors.

2.) Brutalish Sanctuary: Brutalish Sanctuary merges stripped-back materiality with refined restraint, reimagining Brutalist influence through concrete looks, terrazzo textures and matte stone looks. Celebrating material honesty, some tiles are left unglazed, allowing the material to speak for itself. Rejecting all-white predictability, this trend embraces authentic texture and inherent character, creating spaces that feel quiet, grounded and protective.

Brutalish Sanctuary: Crossville

3.) Gilded Age: Metallic details have resurfaced, becoming a quintessential design element among contemporary tile collections. These iridescent details transform ceramics from purely functional surfaces into sophisticated focal points. Gold, bronze, copper and silver ornamentation takes shape among both large- and small-format pieces, creating shimmering contrasts against matte, textured or neutral backgrounds. These accents are designed to interact with light, to emphasize architectural features and enhance spatial depth, all while adding quiet luxury to projects.

4.) Haptic Experience: Ceramic surfaces are evolving beyond visual appeal into interactive, multi-sensory experiences that respond and engage with the senses. Textures now range from subtle ridges and embossed patterns to deeply undulating surfaces, inviting touch and creating a human connection with materials. Advances in glazing chemistry and digital production add reactive qualities, allowing finishes to subtly shift with light, perspective or angle, lending to walls and floors with a dynamic almost living quality. These tiles not only enhance aesthetical range, but also elevate interiors to immersive, tactile environments.

5.) Jade Terrain: Inspired by the precious stone, this trend captures the serenity, sophistication and luxury of jade green as it translates into ceramic and porcelain tile. Jade green, positioned near the center of the green color family, showcases a wide array of hues in jade-inspired tiles, ranging from soft pastel greens and vibrant turquoises to deep, earth-toned mossy shades and saturated tones with subtle shadows of black. With product selections such as monochromatic subway tiles, two-toned mosaics, large-format tiles with shades of jade veining and much more, this trend offers designers and installers remarkable versatility and lends itself equally to calming interiors and bold architectural statements.

6.) Micro-Illusions: Small-format tiles have reached their mighty peak, achieving immense design effects by mimicking large-scale surfaces or intricate mosaics. Techniques such as precision scoring, digital printing and color-matched grout allow these tiles to replicate expansive mosaic murals, create optical illusions or produce layered dimensional effects. The result is high-impact design that is both cost-effective and installation-friendly, perfect for feature walls, accent areas and floors that demand detailed artistry without complexity.

7.) Organic Minimalism: Evolving to a cooler, more minimal aesthetic, this season manufacturers are emphasizing tranquility, texture and lasting stone effects. This trend represents a collective return to structured, quiet spaces, desaturated tones and the integrity of durable materials. This approach elevates raw elemental surfaces, such as concrete and ivory stone looks, into refined, tactile expressions of calm, sophisticated design.

Surface Technologies: Casalgrande Padana

8.) Surface Technologies: Manufacturers continue to pioneer new surface technologies, redefining the experience of space through touch, texture, light and function. Sculptural reliefs, bas-relief textures and glossy-matte contrasts create richly tactile walls, while advanced technologies add dimensional depth, slip resistance and silky touch-effects. From new integrated induction cooktops to engineered shower trays and backlit-effect surfaces, tile is redefining the relationship between material and technology.

9.) Tailored Craft: Function meets nostalgia in a way that is as playful as it is practical. Tailored Craft draws inspiration from fashion’s enduring motifs, blending tailored elegance with skilled craftsmanship. These looks imbue a quietly luxurious aesthetic that feels curated, tactile and timeless-perfect for designers who value character, and considered design over fleeting trends.

10.) Tile as Art: Tile is shifting from simple cladding to an immersive design statement, with manufacturers positioning it as a sophisticated alternative to wallpaper or art. This season’s collections introduce bold graphics, optical illusions and continuous murals that create decorative storytelling, ranging from geometric and metallic identities to refined scenographic patterns and hand-drawn, narrative-driven scenes.

Attendees will have the opportunity to discover in-person the top 10 tile trends and other global tile, stone and installation offerings at Coverings 2026, North America’s largest international tile and stone exposition and conference.

Coverings, North America’s leading international tile and stone showcase and educational conference, has released an expansive lineup of new and returning programming and activations for the annual show, which will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas from March 30 to April 2, 2026.

The Coverings 2026 event schedule provides engaging edification and experiential opportunities for show attendees, including architects, designers, contractors, installers, stone fabricators, builders, remodelers, distributors, retailers and other industry professionals from across the globe. Nearly 25,000 showgoers will gather to access top-tier networking opportunities; gain valuable industry insights; and experience the world’s best tile, stone, equipment and machinery exhibits and innovations.

Attendees will be able to explore global pavilions hosted by leading tile associations and product manufacturers from 40 countries, showcasing the newest product and technology offerings. Also available to attendees will be on-site activations, guided and audio show floor tours, live demonstrations and other interactive programs curated for all applicable industry segments.

“Coverings 2026 offers a creative and comprehensive mix of immersive programming and industry-focused activities designed to benefit the international tile and stone community,” said Jamie Rich, Coverings managing director. “From live installations to workshops only available at Coverings, attendees will have a broad selection of skill-building and networking-focused opportunities to optimize growth for their businesses.”

Hands-on installations and trend-driven displays will give attendees firsthand experiences to see, touch, feel and discuss the ways in which tile and stone contribute to thoughtful design, healthier environments and sustainable spaces.

The Coverings Lounge (Booth # 6014), a hub to relax, network with peers, gain professional knowledge and attend happy hours with prize giveaways, will be home to the Trends & Solutions Stage for the second year in a row. Afternoon happy hours will take place March 30, 31 and April 1, with the added bonus of giveaways from National Tile Contractors Association-member companies and vendors March 31 and April 1 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. PDT. Everyone visiting the lounge will enjoy refreshing drinks, valuable prizes, business-forward sessions and a chance to connect with industry peers.

A highlight of The Coverings Lounge this year will be the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) exhibit. Students enrolled in the senior-level Architectural Design Studio course for the spring 2026 semester will be designing and installing tiled furniture. The finished suite will include tables, chairs and lamps to form a lounge-study grotto within The Coverings Lounge. The lounge-study’s cozy “old school” theme will provide visual relief from the bustling show floor, with six to nine mosaic-tiled furniture pieces created in a subdued earth-toned palette.

“This is the third time Coverings has collaborated with the UNLV School of Architecture, and it is always so impressive and inspiring to see the creative designs the students conceptualize and plan,” said Rich. “We’re fortunate enough to have members and trainers from the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA), Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) and select other partners provide instruction and support for the students throughout the semester and expose young talent to the world of tile and stone. The furniture the students create will be prominently displayed on the UNLV campus following the event.”

Sponsors of the UNLV student collaboration with Coverings include QEP Co Inc., Arizona Tile, Wedi Corp. and MAPEI Corp.

The Coverings Lounge will also host the 2026 Rock Stars & Coverings Champions Awards Ceremony, honoring the 12th class of Coverings Rock Stars and second annual Champion honorees. The ceremony will take place March 30 from 4 to 5 p.m., recognizing the Rock Stars as tile and stone industry young leaders and Champions for their commitment to Coverings over the years.

Coverings 2026 Programming and Activations

The Artisan Showcase (Booth # 4721), a dedicated space on the show floor to discover one-of-a-kind decorative and handmade tiles and celebrate the artisan community, is returning and will offer engaging daily demos, workshops and displays. Following its success in 2025, the interactive mosaic tile coaster-making activation will be available to showgoers all four days of Coverings 2026. Live demos from talented artisans, artisan tile concept boards and information about the Tile Heritage Foundation can also be found at the Artisan Showcase. These hands-on workshops bridge the gap between observation and participation, allowing attendees to experience firsthand the skill, craftmanship and discipline behind handmade tile work.

Attendees will have access to Coverings 2026’s three show floor stages to gain knowledge on a range of relevant tile and stone industry topics. Industry leaders will share their insights on emerging trends, business processes, live “how-to” demonstrations and more.

The Trends & Solutions Stage (Booth # 6014), located within The Coverings Lounge, will feature exhibitors and industry professionals highlighting what is at the forefront of the tile and stone marketplace. Attendees will benefit from short, impactful presentations on launching new services, business solutions and trends, serving as a resource to propel business growth.

The Installation Innovation Stage (Booth # 4676), one of the most popular features at Coverings, will showcase live demonstrations led by NTCA and Tile Council of North America (TCNA) staff and members, allowing visitors to learn new techniques to make tile and stone installation more successful, as well as how to install an array of new products. Longstanding professional experts will share knowledge about industry standards, new materials, methods and best practices for executing impeccable tile installations.

The Fabricator Stage (Booth # 7675), in collaboration with the Natural Stone Institute (NSI) and Latin American Fabricators Network (LAFN), will supply short, engaging presentations – some in Spanish –  from experts in the stone and fabrication industry. The presentations, centered around trending fabrication topics, will provide attendees with key takeaways and perspectives needed to complete successful projects and enhance business evolution. Lively discussions during happy hours at the Fabricator Stage will happen March 30, March 31 and April 1 at 3:30 p.m. The happy hours will provide attendees with reserved times to network with peers and connect with speakers after sessions in a relaxed setting.

The Stone Fabricator’s Alliance (SFA) Cage (Booth # 7597), an ideal place for fabricators and other stone and tile professionals to gather, network and learn new fabrication techniques, will return to Coverings 2026. The SFA Cage will feature daily demonstrations on a wide variety of fabrication topics, including how to work with and fabricate large format tiles and gauged porcelain panels that continue to grow in popularity. Attendees can connect with fellow fabricators and others during happy hours, beginning at 3:30 p.m., March 30, March 31 and April 1.

The Galvanize Lounge (Room C102) is a hub for all Coverings attendees to connect, celebrate and draw inspiration from like-minded peers. A variety of activities will take place throughout the show in the Galvanize Lounge, including a headshot lounge. Supported by leading women’s industry organizations, the lounge is an inclusive space that encourages community-building and uplifts women in the tile and stone industry. The space also will host the Coverings Installation & Design (CID) Awards Ceremony & Reception March 31 at 4:30 p.m., celebrating breathtaking projects featuring tile and stone.

Mindfulness Workshops will be hosted in the Galvanize Lounge and the Trends & Solutions Stage by Gianna Vallefuoco, eternal artist, mindfulness meditation teacher and speaker, co-owner of Vallefuoco Contractors, NTCA board member and founder of Disability Inclusion Guild. These health & wellness sessions, with topics including “Intention Setting” and “Moment to Arrive,” will help attendees learn practical techniques for maintaining mental fitness in their workplaces, how to use a growth-focused mindset to lead their organizations and more.

A selection of guided and self-paced show floor tours at Coverings 2026 will give attendees new ways to deepen their experiences, while discovering the latest products and innovations defining the tile and stone industry.

The popular Contractor Tours, led by NTCA members, will provide tour participants with a guided show floor exploration to discover the latest tools, equipment and allied products, and learn directly from manufacturers. These one-hour guided tours will begin at The Coverings Lounge at 11 a.m., March 30, March 31 and April 1, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Coverings 2026 Programming and Activations

After a popular debut at Coverings 2025, Coverings will once again offer a Contractor Tour en Español to offer Spanish-speaking professionals a tailored opportunity to engage directly with exhibitors and explore forward-thinking solutions. NTCA will lead the tour, March 31, from 2 to 3 p.m., departing from The Coverings Lounge. Early arrival is recommended as spots are limited.

Coverings 2026 will also offer audio tours for those interested in a self-guided, flexible option. Attendees can explore the show floor at their own pace and choose from four audio tour options: “Reimagining Porcelain,” “Tile & Stone Technology,” “Outdoor Living Spaces” and “Stone Trends & Fabrication.” Each audio tour will showcase noteworthy tile and stone displays and key exhibitors, allowing attendees to personalize their experiences based on personal and professional interests.

Visit the Coverings website to register for the event or to find more information about the lounges, stages, tours, educational sessions, networking and other special programs at Coverings 2026.

Coverings, the largest event in North America dedicated to ceramic tile and natural stone, has unveiled extensive conference educational programming for Coverings 2026, taking place March 30–April 2, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Coverings 2026 attendees will gain impactful insights to strengthen professional skills, deepen market intelligence and support leadership growth across the tile, stone, design and construction industries. Show registrants and prospective attendees can explore the full scope of educational sessions and partner programs for Coverings 2026, including dates, times and locations of all scheduled conference events, by visiting the official 2026 show schedule.

Conference programming planned for Coverings 2026 will blend multiple modes of instruction — from technical presentations and partner-led sessions to dialogue-driven Q&As and live demos — creating a learning environment that equips showgoers with the strategic and practical knowledge required to navigate a rapidly shifting tile and stone industry.

One major highlight of the Coverings 2026 conference programming will be a marquee session featuring Gary Sinise, acclaimed actor, humanitarian and founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation

“Building Hope: A Conversation with Gary Sinise, NTCA, and NSI on Serving Veterans Through Skilled Craftsmanship,” sponsored by MAPEI Corporation at the headline level and PROFLEX Products Inc. at the supporting level, is scheduled for April 1, 8:30–9:15 a.m. PDT and will bring Sinise and leaders from the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) and the Natural Stone Institute (NSI) together.

The conversation will shed light on their collaborative work through the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment) program, which constructs custom-built, specially adapted mortgage-free smart homes for the United States’ most severely wounded heroes and recently marked a major milestone with the dedication of its 100th smart home.

Those in attendance of the session will learn how tile and stone professionals have contributed to the smart homes the Foundation builds and garner practical guidance on ways to participate in future builds, from providing skilled labor and material donations to offering broader advocacy.

Registered professionals for Coverings 2026 will also have full access to nearly two dozen other targeted sessions organized within three core learning tracks: Installation & Fabrication, Materials & Trends and Workforce & Profits.

Coverings 2026 Conference Education

Sampling of Several Featured Sessions

“The Most Directional Color and Design Trends,” taking place March 30, 9:30–10:30 a.m., will be one of many opening-day sessions for showgoers to attend as they kick off an information-rich first day. Leatrice (Lee) Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, will present her latest color and design trend program “Sense-Abilities,” which examines the lifestyle cues and emotional triggers shaping consumer design choices. Eiseman will highlight the most directional color and design influences expected to guide product development and project decision-making in the year ahead, drawing on themes that span both nostalgic references and forward-looking inspiration.

Another must-attend education session slated for the first day of Coverings, March 30, is “Get Inspired and Turbocharge Your Business,” taking place from 8–9 a.m. The program will spotlight standout selections from the Tile Heritage Foundation’s (THF) archive of more than 44,000 digital images, demonstrating how historical context can enrich storytelling, reinforce project authenticity and inspire new concepts that resonate within today’s design landscape. Attendees will gain insight into how THF’s free resources can support and shape strategic business growth and establish long-term industry presence by connecting contemporary tile work with the foundation’s archival legacy.

A dedicated Architecture & Design (A&D) Day, March 31, will expand Coverings 2026’s educational offerings with six American Institute of Architects (AIA)–accredited courses. These sessions are designed to equip architects and designers with practical knowledge and specification tools that strengthen project outcomes across residential and commercial work. The full lineup will be presented by the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association (CTDA), National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) and Natural Stone Institute (NSI).

Coverings 2026 Conference Education

The A&D Day schedule will include CTDA’s “Why Tile” from 8–9 a.m. and “Health and Environmental Benefits of Ceramic Tile” from 11 a.m.–noon. NSI will present “The Art of Specifying Natural Stone” from 8–9 a.m. and “Natural Stone and Green Design” from 9:30–10:30 a.m. NTCA will round out the program with “Introduction to Tile Industry Standards, Methods and Best Practices” from 9:30–10:30 a.m., followed by “Specifying & Installing Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels/Slabs” from 12:30–1:30 p.m.

Day 2 at Coverings 2026 will also highlight “Inspire, Lead, Grow: Opportunities for Emerging Professionals in Tile and Stone,” scheduled for 12:30–1:30 p.m. This interactive program is designed for emerging professionals and future leaders who want to define meaningful career paths, strengthen critical skill sets, attract and mentor new talent and gain a deeper understanding of how leadership at all levels drives innovation and progress.

Those attending the Day 3 panel discussion “Inside the Industry: Leaders on Tile Today,” 9:30–10:30 a.m., will glean perspective from leaders across all tile and stone sectors as they examine current market dynamics, supply chain considerations, evolving customer expectations and emerging business opportunities. The conversation will offer practical insight into how these industry forces are shaping both residential and commercial applications and will present strategies to support long-term success.

Partner education will further enrich the Coverings 2026 learning experience across Days 2 and 3, starting with a special edition of Facades+, presented in partnership with The Architect’s Newspaper on March 31. “Facades+ Las Vegas” will feature a half-day program of design case studies and educational sessions led by leading architects, engineers and contractors (AEC), focusing on the latest advancements in façade technology, materials and best practices. Attendees will have the opportunity to earn three Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) credits from AIA, learn directly from AEC experts and explore a range of materials with full access to the Coverings show floor.

Additional partner-led education will follow during Day 3 with the University of Ceramic Tile and Stone’s (UofCTS) “How to Be a Professional Architectural Sales Rep to Develop ‘Bullet Proof’ Specifications and Get the Order.” This four-hour workshop will focus on how to write a proper specification, how to protect it and how to secure the order. The first 20 people to register will also receive a complimentary copy of the comprehensive guide workbook. Separate registration is required for both events and attendees can learn more and register at Coverings.com/education-partners.

Access the Coverings website to explore the full range of educational opportunities for Coverings 2026 and to take advantage of early-bird registration benefits, including cost-free registration through Feb. 1, 2026.

Coverings, the largest and preeminent event for the ceramic tile and natural stone industry in North America, has announced that Coverings 2026 will take place March 30–April 2, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The announcement also marks the official opening of submissions for the 2026 Coverings Installation & Design (CID) Awards and nominations for the Coverings 2026 Rock Star program.

“Las Vegas is a city defined by bold, forward-thinking design and unforgettable experiences,” said Jamie Rich, Coverings’ managing director. “It is the ideal backdrop to unite the global tile and stone community, showcase innovative trends from around the world and celebrate the industry’s most inspiring projects and talented professionals through the CID Awards and Rock Star program.”

Coverings Installation and Design (CID) Awards

The CID Awards — sponsored by TileLetter, Stone & Tile Insider and Stone World — recognize outstanding achievements in the design and installation of ceramic tile and natural stone across residential, institutional and commercial projects. Architects, designers, builders, contractors, installers, distributors, retailers and other industry professionals may submit their projects through the CID project submittal portal by Dec. 1, 2025.

Submissions will be judged unanimously based on installation and design, with a focus on originality, innovation and sustainability.

Coverings 2026

A group of leading experts in tile, stone, installation and design will review submissions and choose winners across 11 competitive categories: Commercial Ceramic Tile Installation, Residential Ceramic Tile Installation, Residential Stone Installation, Commercial Stone Installation, Residential Ceramic Tile Design, Residential Stone Design, Commercial Ceramic Tile Design, Commercial Stone Design, Artistic Design, Artistic Installation and Other Design.

The Artistic Design and Artistic Installation categories, first introduced in 2025, return in 2026 to spotlight creative, one-of-a-kind applications of tile and stone, including projects such as murals and mosaics, which are gaining prominence in the tile and stone world. These categories reflect Coverings’ commitment to recognizing a broader range of project types and encouraging diverse submissions from around the globe.

National and international entries are welcomed with up to three submissions accepted at no cost. Eligible projects must be completed between January 2024 and December 2025. Multiple entries across different categories are encouraged, provided each project meets the criteria specific to its category.

Winning projects will be recognized during Coverings 2026 at the CID Awards Ceremony & Reception, March 31, 2026, and featured across Coverings’ website, press materials and social channels. Award winners will also receive the added bonus of a complimentary one-night stay in Las Vegas or an equivalent gift card.

Coverings Rock Star Program

The Coverings Rock Stars, an Emerging Leaders Program, honors emerging tile and stone professionals under the age of 35. The program, now in its 12th year, reinforces Coverings’ mission to advance the industry by celebrating rising talent and fostering opportunities for networking, mentorship and professional development. Industry leaders are encouraged to submit nominations via the online Coverings Rock Stars nomination form by Dec. 1, 2025. Multiple nominations are accepted and encouraged.

A panel of industry experts will evaluate nominees based on key criteria, including industry involvement, career growth, leadership development, community and volunteer contributions, and continuing education. Judges will also consider standout qualities that distinguish nominees as future leaders in the industry. Self-nominations are not permitted.

The selected class of 2026 Rock Stars will be honored onsite at the Coverings Rock Star Awards Ceremony, March 30, 2026. The winners will be featured in an official press release and on the Coverings website and social media platforms.
