Coverings 2026, the largest international tile and stone event in North America, convened thousands of industry professionals from around the world at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas March 30 – April 2, reaffirming the annual show’s position as a premier marketplace for tile, stone, design innovation and global business exchange.

The four-day event, which spanned the convention center’s large North and Central Halls, attracted highly qualified attendees with strong buying power across all industry segments, 77% of whom were directly involved in purchasing or specifying products.

Architects, builders, contractors, designers, distributors, fabricators, installers, retailers and other professionals explored creatively designed, immersive displays showcasing the latest in tile, stone, machinery, tools, technology and installation products. This year, 750 exhibitors from nearly 40 countries participated in the event.

“Coverings is where the international tile and stone industry comes together to forge new relationships, gain education, explore the newest trends and products, and take advantage of unique opportunities for business growth and development,” said Jamie Rich, Coverings managing director. “The event’s ‘For the Industry, By the Industry’ commitment ensures every decision centers on delivering an event that is inclusive, impactful and valuable for all who exhibit and attend. Hosting Coverings in Las Vegas this year expanded the show’s reach, bringing the industry together in one of the world’s premier destinations for business and innovation.”

Attendance from California and Nevada increased 412% compared to Coverings 2025 when the show took place in Orlando, Fla. The architect and designer (A&D) attendee segments also saw an increase at Coverings 2026. A&D attendance was up 24% compared to Coverings 2022, which was the last time Coverings was hosted in Las Vegas.

“The Coverings show was an incredible experience,” said Jana Donohoe, Jana Donohoe Designs/Shape Space. “The range of tile and stone on display was not only impressive but truly valuable for designers looking to stay current, inspired and informed. It’s an environment that sparks creativity and exposes you to materials and applications you simply wouldn’t encounter otherwise.”

Among many highlights for Coverings 2026 attendees was the keynote session, “Building Hope: A Conversation with Gary Sinise, NTCA, and NSI on Serving Veterans Through Skilled Craftsmanship,” supported by Headline Sponsor MAPEI and Supporting Sponsor PROFLEX.

Those who attended learned how tile and stone professionals have contributed to the specially adapted, smart homes built by the Gary Sinise Foundation for the nation’s most severely wounded veterans and other American heroes, along with guidance on ways to participate in future builds.

Coverings 2026 Exhibitors, Tours and Education

A private, curated tour with Sinise, the founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation and acclaimed actor and humanitarian, took place following the keynote during which he thanked current donors and met exhibitors showcasing products designed with accessibility in mind. The tour featured a range of exhibits with residential products that improve safety, mobility, comfort and independent daily living for inhabitants, such as curbless showers, slip-resistant tile for floors and other surfaces, and indoor-outdoor transitions.

Other show floor tours were available to attendees to explore the vast Coverings 2026 exhibit hall, whether through the guided Contractor Tour or Contractor Tour en Español led by the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA), to see the latest tools, equipment and allied products, or with the self-guided audio tours. The audio tours were available in both English and Spanish, featuring four options for those interested in touring at their own pace: “Reimagining Porcelain,” “Tile & Stone Technology,” “Outdoor Living Spaces” and “Stone Trends & Fabrication.”

The popular Coverings Lounge served as a hub for all Coverings attendees to network with new and familiar industry peers, gain new knowledge at the Trends & Solutions Stage and attend happy hours. The lounge was also home to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Architecture collaboration. Showgoers were captivated by the suite of mosaic-tiled furniture, which included two chairs, a coffee table and two lamps, designed and installed by UNLV students. The finished suite of furniture created in an earth-toned palette formed a cozy, “old-school” lounge-grotto for attendees to kick-back and enjoy. The furniture is now on permanent display at UNLV.

The Coverings’ Stages — Installation Innovation Stage, Fabricator Stage and Trends & Solutions Stage — as well as the Stone Fabricator’s Alliance (SFA) Cage offered Coverings 2026 attendees more than 50 educational opportunities. The Artisan Showcase was also a celebrated show floor feature, with art tile makers and artisans demonstrating the steps required to create one-of-a-kind, hand-made tile. Attendees visiting the Artisan Showcase were able to create their own mosaic tile coasters to take home as a Coverings memento.

Mindfulness Workshops, led by Gianna Vallefuoco, eternal artist, mindfulness meditation teacher and speaker, co-owner of Vallefuoco Contractors, NTCA board member and founder of Disability Inclusion Guild, were hosted at the Trends & Solutions Stage and the Galvanize Lounge. Attendees participating in these sessions learned practical techniques for maintaining mental fitness in their workplaces, how to use a growth-focused mindset to lead their organizations and more.

This year’s top 10 tile trends were featured in several educational presentations and show floor tours led by Alena Capra, Coverings spokesperson, industry ambassador and owner of Alena Capra Designs. The 2026 trends were seen throughout the show’s 9 miles of tile and stone in many different eye-catching and creative exhibit booth displays.

A specially arranged “badge swap” program between Coverings 2026 and NHS Concept to Commerce show allowed hundreds of attendees to experience two shows with one registration. Coverings 2026’s showcase of the world’s most innovative tile and stone products adjacent to NHS Concept to Commerce’s full retail ecosystem of global manufacturers, brands and inventors provided easy and productive access to both events taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Coverings 2027 is scheduled for April 6-9, 2027, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Decocer’s installation has been awarded the Best Booth Award at Coverings 2026. Under the title “Echoes of the Earth,” the stand, designed by Héctor Ruiz Velázquez, is conceived as a material-driven manifesto that celebrates expressiveness.

Decocer’s collections stand out for their material-focused and contemporary style, where small formats, reliefs and textures are combined with palettes ranging from neutrals to bold tones.

At Coverings 2026 in Las Vegas this week, Decocer’s stand is located within the Spanish Pavilion organized by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones. The Best Booth Award, one of the show’s most prestigious recognitions, was awarded for the proposal, which is accompanied by a carefully curated selection of collections that reinforce Decocer’s international positioning in the field of small-format ceramic design.

Ceramics as a spatial experience

Designed by Héctor Ruiz Velázquez, the stand is conceived as an installation that goes beyond its exhibition function to become a true architectural experience. Through a material-driven and contemporary language, the space explores the ability of ceramics to shape atmospheres, create spatial sequences and engage the visitor’s sensory perception.

The proposal highlights the expressive potential of small-format ceramics, demonstrating how repetition, relief and texture can transform the material into a powerful architectural resource. In line with Decocer’s philosophy, the stand is conceived as a versatile system, capable of adapting, evolving and engaging in dialogue with different contexts.

Featured collections: material, texture and color

Decocer’s proposal at Coverings brings together a selection of collections defined by their material character, tactile richness and compositional versatility. Small-format tiles emerge as a language capable of shaping contemporary projects with a distinctive identity.

Featured collections include Eterea, a reinterpretation of marble through lightness; Lythos, stone in its essential state; Mood, which uses rhythm and color as design tools; Sienna, featuring the warmth of fired clay reinterpreted in a contemporary key; Talya, highlighting craft tradition and contemporary expressiveness; Vibe, offering graphic energy and compositional precision; and several others.

With more than 35 years of experience, Decocer has established itself as an international reference in the design and manufacturing of custom small-format ceramics. Its ability to tailor shapes, colors, finishes and reliefs positions the company as a strategic partner for manufacturers, distributors and specifiers in more than 20 countries.

Its participation in Coverings reinforces its commitment to the international market, particularly North America, where demand for versatile, expressive and high-quality ceramic solutions continues to grow.

Coverings has released the top 10 tile trends for 2026. The newly announced trends offer a glimpse of the inspiring tile product displays that will be featured at Coverings 2026, scheduled to take place March 30 to April 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The tile trends were selected by Coverings’ three leading sponsors and international tile associations – Ceramics of Italy/Confindustria Ceramica, Ceramic Tile Manufacturers Association of Spain (ASCER)/Tile of Spain and Tile Council of North America (TCNA) – to spotlight the most favored and chic product designs from the global tile industry.

Coverings spokesperson Alena Capra, CMKBD, owner of Alena Capra Designs, worked closely with the associations to identify this year’s trends.

“The trends highlight tile as both a creative medium and a high-performing design-build solution, pairing bold visual expression with the real-world demands of durability, hygiene and sustainability,” said Capra. “Above all, it is a celebration of the talented global tile industry driving the business forward — and the remarkable possibilities it provides.”

Capra, alongside a panel of industry experts, will discuss the annual tile trends at Coverings 2026 during the “Global Tile Trends” session, March 30 from 11 a.m. to noon PDT. The panel will dissect the freshest aesthetic, technological and sustainable innovations emerging from the world’s tile powerhouses, revealing the key looks that are defining contemporary design. Attendees will gain a sneak peek into the materials, designs and techniques that are shaping the tile industry in 2026.

Additional trends-related activations, education sessions, panels, presentations and live demonstrations will be available at Coverings 2026 for interior designers, architects, contractors, installers, fabricators, distributors, retailers and other tile and stone professionals. The program includes a variety of AIA–accredited courses on March 31. Attendees can learn more by visiting the full program schedule online.

The following 10 tile trends of 2026 are summarized in alphabetical order as follows:

1.) Articulated Accents: The Articulated Accents tile trend celebrates the synchronized harmony of graphic precision and outward design articulation, crafting tiles that engage the senses. Advanced glazing and contour-detailing techniques create surfaces that evoke the feel of anything from soft leather to textured sandstone, complete with stitching-like details or pitted striations. The result is a layered, immersive experience that responds dynamically to light and touch, bringing warmth, visual depth and subtle sophistication to interiors.

2.) Brutalish Sanctuary: Brutalish Sanctuary merges stripped-back materiality with refined restraint, reimagining Brutalist influence through concrete looks, terrazzo textures and matte stone looks. Celebrating material honesty, some tiles are left unglazed, allowing the material to speak for itself. Rejecting all-white predictability, this trend embraces authentic texture and inherent character, creating spaces that feel quiet, grounded and protective.

Coverings 2026 Top 10 Tile Trends

Brutalish Sanctuary: Crossville

3.) Gilded Age: Metallic details have resurfaced, becoming a quintessential design element among contemporary tile collections. These iridescent details transform ceramics from purely functional surfaces into sophisticated focal points. Gold, bronze, copper and silver ornamentation takes shape among both large- and small-format pieces, creating shimmering contrasts against matte, textured or neutral backgrounds. These accents are designed to interact with light, to emphasize architectural features and enhance spatial depth, all while adding quiet luxury to projects.

4.) Haptic Experience: Ceramic surfaces are evolving beyond visual appeal into interactive, multi-sensory experiences that respond and engage with the senses. Textures now range from subtle ridges and embossed patterns to deeply undulating surfaces, inviting touch and creating a human connection with materials. Advances in glazing chemistry and digital production add reactive qualities, allowing finishes to subtly shift with light, perspective or angle, lending to walls and floors with a dynamic almost living quality. These tiles not only enhance aesthetical range, but also elevate interiors to immersive, tactile environments.

5.) Jade Terrain: Inspired by the precious stone, this trend captures the serenity, sophistication and luxury of jade green as it translates into ceramic and porcelain tile. Jade green, positioned near the center of the green color family, showcases a wide array of hues in jade-inspired tiles, ranging from soft pastel greens and vibrant turquoises to deep, earth-toned mossy shades and saturated tones with subtle shadows of black. With product selections such as monochromatic subway tiles, two-toned mosaics, large-format tiles with shades of jade veining and much more, this trend offers designers and installers remarkable versatility and lends itself equally to calming interiors and bold architectural statements.

6.) Micro-Illusions: Small-format tiles have reached their mighty peak, achieving immense design effects by mimicking large-scale surfaces or intricate mosaics. Techniques such as precision scoring, digital printing and color-matched grout allow these tiles to replicate expansive mosaic murals, create optical illusions or produce layered dimensional effects. The result is high-impact design that is both cost-effective and installation-friendly, perfect for feature walls, accent areas and floors that demand detailed artistry without complexity.

7.) Organic Minimalism: Evolving to a cooler, more minimal aesthetic, this season manufacturers are emphasizing tranquility, texture and lasting stone effects. This trend represents a collective return to structured, quiet spaces, desaturated tones and the integrity of durable materials. This approach elevates raw elemental surfaces, such as concrete and ivory stone looks, into refined, tactile expressions of calm, sophisticated design.

Coverings 2026 Top 10 Tile Trends

Surface Technologies: Casalgrande Padana

8.) Surface Technologies: Manufacturers continue to pioneer new surface technologies, redefining the experience of space through touch, texture, light and function. Sculptural reliefs, bas-relief textures and glossy-matte contrasts create richly tactile walls, while advanced technologies add dimensional depth, slip resistance and silky touch-effects. From new integrated induction cooktops to engineered shower trays and backlit-effect surfaces, tile is redefining the relationship between material and technology.

9.) Tailored Craft: Function meets nostalgia in a way that is as playful as it is practical. Tailored Craft draws inspiration from fashion’s enduring motifs, blending tailored elegance with skilled craftsmanship. These looks imbue a quietly luxurious aesthetic that feels curated, tactile and timeless-perfect for designers who value character, and considered design over fleeting trends.

10.) Tile as Art: Tile is shifting from simple cladding to an immersive design statement, with manufacturers positioning it as a sophisticated alternative to wallpaper or art. This season’s collections introduce bold graphics, optical illusions and continuous murals that create decorative storytelling, ranging from geometric and metallic identities to refined scenographic patterns and hand-drawn, narrative-driven scenes.

Attendees will have the opportunity to discover in-person the top 10 tile trends and other global tile, stone and installation offerings at Coverings 2026, North America’s largest international tile and stone exposition and conference.

Hands-on installations and trend-driven displays will give attendees firsthand experiences to see, touch, feel and discuss the ways in which tile and stone contribute to thoughtful design, healthier environments and sustainable spaces.

The Coverings Lounge (Booth # 6014), a hub to relax, network with peers, gain professional knowledge and attend happy hours with prize giveaways, will be home to the Trends & Solutions Stage for the second year in a row. Afternoon happy hours will take place March 30, 31 and April 1, with the added bonus of giveaways from National Tile Contractors Association-member companies and vendors March 31 and April 1 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. PDT. Everyone visiting the lounge will enjoy refreshing drinks, valuable prizes, business-forward sessions and a chance to connect with industry peers.

A highlight of The Coverings Lounge this year will be the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) exhibit. Students enrolled in the senior-level Architectural Design Studio course for the spring 2026 semester will be designing and installing tiled furniture. The finished suite will include tables, chairs and lamps to form a lounge-study grotto within The Coverings Lounge. The lounge-study’s cozy “old school” theme will provide visual relief from the bustling show floor, with six to nine mosaic-tiled furniture pieces created in a subdued earth-toned palette.

“This is the third time Coverings has collaborated with the UNLV School of Architecture, and it is always so impressive and inspiring to see the creative designs the students conceptualize and plan,” said Rich. “We’re fortunate enough to have members and trainers from the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA), Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) and select other partners provide instruction and support for the students throughout the semester and expose young talent to the world of tile and stone. The furniture the students create will be prominently displayed on the UNLV campus following the event.”

Sponsors of the UNLV student collaboration with Coverings include QEP Co Inc., Arizona Tile, Wedi Corp. and MAPEI Corp.

The Coverings Lounge will also host the 2026 Rock Stars & Coverings Champions Awards Ceremony, honoring the 12th class of Coverings Rock Stars and second annual Champion honorees. The ceremony will take place March 30 from 4 to 5 p.m., recognizing the Rock Stars as tile and stone industry young leaders and Champions for their commitment to Coverings over the years.

Coverings 2026 Programming and Activations

The Artisan Showcase (Booth # 4721), a dedicated space on the show floor to discover one-of-a-kind decorative and handmade tiles and celebrate the artisan community, is returning and will offer engaging daily demos, workshops and displays. Following its success in 2025, the interactive mosaic tile coaster-making activation will be available to showgoers all four days of Coverings 2026. Live demos from talented artisans, artisan tile concept boards and information about the Tile Heritage Foundation can also be found at the Artisan Showcase. These hands-on workshops bridge the gap between observation and participation, allowing attendees to experience firsthand the skill, craftmanship and discipline behind handmade tile work.

Attendees will have access to Coverings 2026’s three show floor stages to gain knowledge on a range of relevant tile and stone industry topics. Industry leaders will share their insights on emerging trends, business processes, live “how-to” demonstrations and more.

The Trends & Solutions Stage (Booth # 6014), located within The Coverings Lounge, will feature exhibitors and industry professionals highlighting what is at the forefront of the tile and stone marketplace. Attendees will benefit from short, impactful presentations on launching new services, business solutions and trends, serving as a resource to propel business growth.

The Installation Innovation Stage (Booth # 4676), one of the most popular features at Coverings, will showcase live demonstrations led by NTCA and Tile Council of North America (TCNA) staff and members, allowing visitors to learn new techniques to make tile and stone installation more successful, as well as how to install an array of new products. Coverings, the largest and preeminent event for the ceramic tile and natural stone industry in North America, has announced that Coverings 2026 will take place March 30–April 2, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The announcement also marks the official opening of submissions for the 2026 Coverings Installation & Design (CID) Awards and nominations for the Coverings 2026 Rock Star program.

Coverings Installation and Design (CID) Awards

The CID Awards — sponsored by TileLetter, Stone & Tile Insider and Stone World — recognize outstanding achievements in the design and installation of ceramic tile and natural stone across residential, institutional and commercial projects. Architects, designers, builders, contractors, installers, distributors, retailers and other industry professionals may submit their projects through the CID project submittal portal by Dec. 1, 2025.

Submissions will be judged unanimously based on installation and design, with a focus on originality, innovation and sustainability.

Coverings 2026

A group of leading experts in tile, stone, installation and design will review submissions and choose winners across 11 competitive categories: Commercial Ceramic Tile Installation, Residential Ceramic Tile Installation, Residential Stone Installation, Commercial Stone Installation, Residential Ceramic Tile Design, Residential Stone Design, Commercial Ceramic Tile Design, Commercial Stone Design, Artistic Design, Artistic Installation and Other Design.

The Artistic Design and Artistic Installation categories, first introduced in 2025, return in 2026 to spotlight creative, one-of-a-kind applications of tile and stone, including projects such as murals and mosaics, which are gaining prominence in the tile and stone world. These categories reflect Coverings’ commitment to recognizing a broader range of project types and encouraging diverse submissions from around the globe.

National and international entries are welcomed with up to three submissions accepted at no cost. Eligible projects must be completed between January 2024 and December 2025. Multiple entries across different categories are encouraged, provided each project meets the criteria specific to its category.

Winning projects will be recognized during Coverings 2026 at the CID Awards Ceremony & Reception, March 31, 2026, and featured across Coverings’ website, press materials and social channels. Award winners will also receive the added bonus of a complimentary one-night stay in Las Vegas or an equivalent gift card.

Coverings Rock Star Program

The Coverings Rock Stars, an Emerging Leaders Program, honors emerging tile and stone professionals under the age of 35. The program, now in its 12th year, reinforces Coverings’ mission to advance the industry by celebrating rising talent and fostering opportunities for networking, mentorship and professional development. Industry leaders are encouraged to submit nominations via the online Coverings Rock Stars nomination form by Dec. 1, 2025. Multiple nominations are accepted and encouraged.

A panel of industry experts will evaluate nominees based on key criteria, including industry involvement, career growth, leadership development, community and volunteer contributions, and continuing education. Judges will also consider standout qualities that distinguish nominees as future leaders in the industry. Self-nominations are not permitted.

The selected class of 2026 Rock Stars will be honored onsite at the Coverings Rock Star Awards Ceremony, March 30, 2026. The winners will be featured in an official press release and on the Coverings website and social media platforms. Coverings, the largest and preeminent international ceramic tile and natural stone event in North America, successfully concluded its 2025 show with impressive exhibits, activations and momentum, drawing nearly 25,000 industry professionals to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Coverings 2025, which took place April 29 to May 2, experienced year-over-year growth with increased qualified attendance, augmented education and accelerated networking. Seventy-five percent of attendees specify or approve the purchase of materials. The upsurge reaffirms Coverings’ position as a leading business hub for the international tile and stone community. This year’s show also welcomed a vibrant mix of first-time and returning participants and saw notable attendance gains spanning key industry segments.

The four-day event extended across the convention center’s North and South Halls and 440,000 net square feet of exhibit space. In total, a dazzling international showcase of 1,000 exhibitors representing 40 countries unveiled the industry’s most advanced products in tile, stone, tools, technology and machinery products. Attendees explored fresh, creatively designed exhibit booths throughout immersive global pavilions hosted by leading tile associations and manufacturers from around the world.

“Coverings 2025 demonstrated how the global tile and stone industry continues to thrive through shared innovation, craftsmanship and collaboration,” said Jamie Rich, Coverings’ show director. “This year’s show created meaningful connections across continents and professions, inspiring new ideas and elevating the future of tile, stone, construction and design.”

Industry professionals at Coverings 2025 included distributors, retailers, fabricators, contractors, architects, designers, builders, real estate developers, journalists, bloggers and social media influencers covering the tile and stone industry. All were eager to explore cutting-edge products and gain tangible and resourceful business insights.

Coverings 2025 Wraps Strong Growth

The event featured a robust educational program with more than 150 speakers, offering valuable learning and engagement opportunities across every sector of the industry.

Coverings 2025’s comprehensive educational program comprised 24 curated conference sessions, organized under three core tracks — Installation & Fabrication, Materials & Trends and Workforce & Profits. These sessions, many of which reached full capacity, delivered important takeaways from recognized industry leaders who shared timely strategies, technical expertise and business intelligence. The content equipped professionals to effectively navigate evolving markets, enhance project outcomes, and champion tile and stone as preferred materials for their design, construction and installation projects.

Attendees experienced a range of show floor highlights designed to showcase the latest in tile and stone. Eight guided tours—including a Fabricator Trends Tour, three Surface Materials and the Home of the Future – Walk & Talk tours and four National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA)-led Contractor Tours offered in both English and Spanish—provided in-depth access to innovative tools, equipment and materials. Additional self-guided Audio Tours, also available in English and Spanish, allowed visitors to explore key exhibits at their own pace through organized themes like “Health & Wellness,” “Sustainability,” “Outdoor Spaces” and “Timeless Luxury.”

Coverings 2025 Wraps Strong Growth

New in 2025, the VIP Specifier Program was launched to provide 16 leading U.S. architects, designers and facility managers with exclusive networking opportunities, tailored show floor tours and access to customized content designed to help streamline tile and stone product specifications and support project planning.

The year’s top 10 tile trends, which were seen in eye-catching examples throughout the exhibit halls, were the subject of multiple on-site tile trends presentations and show floor tours provided by Alena Capra, Coverings spokesperson, industry ambassador and owner of Alena Capra Designs.

The Coverings Lounge returned to Orlando as a lively centerpiece of the show floor, offering an energetic space for learning, networking and project inspiration. Lounge visitors gathered for thought-provoking sessions, connected with industry peers during daily happy hours and prize giveaways, and took part in interactive activations.

A standout feature of The Coverings Lounge was the debut of the I.C.E. House Showhome Experience—an immersive walk-through showcase produced by Jennifer Farrell Designs. The experience offered a guided exploration of the future of home design, complete with informational displays, material samples and exclusive presentations by Jennifer Farrell.

Three featured stages provided more than 50 learning opportunities on the Coverings 2025 show floor. The Installation Innovation Stage hosted live demonstrations focused on advanced techniques for installing new products; the Fabricator Stage presented high-energy sessions highlighting the latest in stone and fabrication methods; and the Trends & Solutions Stage, located within The Coverings Lounge, offered design-forward presentations on emerging product trends and practical project solutions.

Wellness-focused talks, including mindfulness workshops led by Gianna Vallefuoco, complemented Coverings’ programming by addressing resilience and well-being in the workplace. Several of these workshops were held in the Galvanize Lounge, which was host to many additional personal and professional development opportunities spearheaded by seven industry women’s organizations. The Artisan Showcase captivated audiences with artisan-led tile demonstrations and experiential mosaic tile coaster-making sessions that celebrated the heritage of the handmade tile craft.

Coverings 2025 further elevated its hands-on learning opportunities with live demonstrations and discussions by the Ceramic Tile Education Foundation (CTEF) and by the Stone Fabricator’s Alliance (SFA). These interactive sessions gave audiences an up-close look at the latest techniques in tile installation and stone fabrication, led by some of the industry’s most experienced professionals.

Coverings 2025 also rolled out live podcast recordings across three days, where industry voices delved into timely topics ranging from design innovation to workforce development, bringing a high-impact media element to the attendee experience.

The next Coverings event will take place March 30-April 2, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Confindustria Ceramica (the Italian Association of Ceramics) has announced the winners of the 2025 Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition, marking another record year of exceptional projects that push the boundaries of Italian tile design. This year’s competition follows the successful merger of two historic initiatives; the Design Competition in North America and Europe’s La Ceramica e il Progetto, which now operates in alternating cycles between continents. In 2025, the focus returned to North America, celebrating architect and design firms that demonstrate exemplary use of ceramic and porcelain tile from Ceramics of Italy member brands.

Spanning three categories – Residential, Nonresidential and Design & New Applications – the competition drew a highly competitive pool of entries, with the international jury ultimately selecting five winners and three honorable mentions as recipients of this year’s awards. The jury is chaired by Louisa Hutton, architect and founder of the Berlin-based practice Sauerbruch Hutton, and includes Domitilla Dardi, historian and design curator at MAXXI in Rome; Luca Molinari, architect and Professor of Architectural Theory and Design at the University of Campania; Steve Clem, principal at the Atlanta- and Tampa-based firm TVS; and Emilio Mussini, Chairman of the Promotional Activities and Trade Fairs Commission of Confindustria Ceramica. Projects were judged on overall design, sustainable attributes, the degree to which Italian tile enhances the setting, the amount of ceramic or porcelain tile from Ceramics of Italy member companies used throughout the project, and the quality of the tile installation.

On the residential side, a sustainability-driven hillside home by These Architects is enriched with colorful hues and expansive porcelain flooring, while Secter Architecture + Design’s hotel-inspired bungalow, Living Lounge, features clean, contemporary tile surfaces while blurring the line between indoor comfort and outdoor entertaining. Additionally, 2020 Stradella, a Bel Air luxury property by DI Group and Adeet Madan Home Design, impressed judges with its extensive, innovative tile applications such as a cascading porcelain-clad pool waterfall, a porcelain induction cooktop, tile-wrapped islands, and unified flooring that flows from the interior to exterior.

Together, these winning projects reflect the latest design directions and technological advancements in ceramic and porcelain tile – from exterior cladding and ventilated facades to 3D textures, handcrafted aesthetics, bold color palettes, through-body veining, large-format materials and a strong emphasis on indoor-outdoor living.

“As a juror, it was a pleasure to review and award some truly outstanding design submissions. I was inspired by the many ways these designers and architects embraced the extraordinary attributes of the Ceramics of Italy materials in the creation of their innovative solutions. All the winning projects are worthy of a visit to appreciate their beauty,” said Steve Clem, principal at TVS and competition juror.

The 2025 Tile Competition winners were announced during the Ceramics of Italy Press Conference at Coverings, the largest tile and stone exhibition in North America, held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Each winning firm presented their projects in front of an audience of design and trade media, tile manufacturers, and industry professionals. As part of their prize, winners will also receive an expense-paid, CEU-accredited trip to Cersaie, the leading international exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, taking place in Bologna, Italy from September 22–26, 2025.

Residential Winners

Living Lounge by Secter Architecture + Designgray marble look kitchen backsplash

ceramics of Italy modern black powder room

Tile Manufacturers: Laminam, Mirage; Distributor: Julian Tile; Installer: Harris Builders LTD

Nestled along the Assiniboine River in Winnipeg, Living Lounge is a hotel-inspired bungalow that blurs the line between indoor comfort and outdoor entertaining spaces. Designed by Canada-based firm Secter Architecture + Design, the residence centers on a sprawling open-plan living, dining, bar and lounge space, oriented to capture optimal light during evening gatherings. The interior flows effortlessly into exterior entertainment zones, including a sauna and an alfresco kitchen with serene river views. As a unifying element throughout the home, Mirage’s Glocal collection lends a clean, contemporary surface to the main entrance, laundry, and powder room floors, while the brand’s textured Quartziti line adds depth to the powder room walls. In the kitchen and dining areas, Laminam’s Pietra Grey porcelain surfaces wrap the backsplash, buffet, island face, and countertops, creating a refined, cohesive visual thread throughout the home. House in the Hill by These Architects

Tile Manufacturer: Emilceramica, Mirage, Marazzi; Distributor: Stone Tile Canada, CIOT, Centura; Installer: DB Custom Homes

Tucked into the wooded hillside of Ontario’s Fonthill Kame, House in the Hill is a reimagined residence that reconnects the home with the surrounding Carolinian forest. Designed by These Architects, the new structure builds on the original foundation, balancing preservation with a bold new architectural identity. A curved, north façade contrasts with orthogonal volumes reaching south toward the forest, linked by a central spine. Throughout all three levels, large-format Italian porcelain flooring from Emilceramica’s Tele di Marmo Reloaded collection seamlessly unifies living spaces, kitchens, hallways, and bathroom, while the brand’s Tele di Marmo Revolution series adds dramatic, marble-look veining to the kitchen backsplash, island, and appliance garage. Marazzi’s Lume collection complements the kitchen walls and animates ensuite bathrooms throughout the home in hues of blue, green, and white, while the brand’s Essenziale White Flora 3D tile brings added texture to the gym bathroom – contrasted by Mirage’s stone-look Norr tiles on adjacent walls. With sustainability central to the design, the project features high-performance glazing, passive ventilation, and a tightly sealed envelope that exceeds code requirements. Residential Honorable Mention

Hidden Pond House by Mojo Stumer Associates

residential exterior modern farmhouse with italian tile

Tile Manufacturer: CEDIT; Distributor: Florim; Installer: Jon Bijari Custom Homes

Set within the lush landscape of Old Westbury, New York, Hidden Pond House reinterprets the classic barn structure through a modernist lens. Designed by Mojo Stumer Associates, the home balances raw materials – featuring washed grey wood, concrete, and exposed steel – with refined architectural elements. A defining material throughout the home is the Matrice series by CEDIT, a large-format porcelain tile used on both the exterior and interiors. On the facade and rear elevation, the tile contrasts against dark wood slats, creating a striking rhythm, as bold, triangular roofs and distinctive windows invite light and frame the surrounding greenery. Inside, CEDIT’s Matrice tiles appear on a dramatic double-height entry wall, accent walls in the halls and stairways, and above the fireplace, where its ability to reflect light and enhance spatial depth powerfully draws the eye upward. The tile’s consistent presence – including moments in bedroom entries and alongside the owners’ art collection – unifies the interior palette while strengthening the home’s seamless relationship with the outdoors. Coverings, the preeminent event for the ceramic tile and natural stone industry in North America, has announced the winners of its annual Best Booth Awards at Coverings 2025. The awards program celebrates outstanding booth designs and creative displays on the show floor. An esteemed panel of tile and stone industry experts selected six booths for recognition this year, including three Best in Show and three Best Display recipients.

“Each year at Coverings, we are continually awed by the originality and craftsmanship our exhibitors showcase—not only in the tile and stone products they create, but also in the immersive and thoughtfully designed booths they bring to the show floor,” said Jamie Rich, Coverings show director. “While all of this year’s exhibits are impressive, we’re proud to recognize six exceptional displays as the Coverings 2025 Best Booth Award winners.”

Mirage Granito Ceramico SpA (Booth 1700) took home Best in Show for its bold, sustainability-driven exhibit. The booth spotlights the brand’s latest eco-conscious tile designs, featuring three new lines composed of 63% pre- and post-consumer recycled materials. These collections are enhanced by decorative installations created in collaboration with internationally renowned interior designers and architects.

Attendees entering Mirage’s exhibit are greeted by the brand’s ReGea line, setting the tone for an inspiring voyage through Mirage’s full ecosystem of sustainable surfaces. Other standout decorative collections include Terrae, Nagomi and Plumage, illustrating the sustainable versatility and visual impact of Mirage’s ceramic and porcelain materials, ranging from small-scale tiles to large-format slabs and extruded breeze blocks.

Coverings 2025 Best Booth Awards Stonepeak

Stonepeak Ceramics (Booth 4020) also received Best in Show for its symphony of innovation, sustainability and aesthetic advancement, reflecting the brand’s transformation and vision for the future. The exhibit space harmonizes technological breakthroughs, engaging product displays and design-forward presentations to provide a memorable booth experience to Coverings 2025 attendees.

Showgoers exploring the Stonepeak Ceramics booth encounter an interactive room introducing technological and cutting-edge creations such as DYS (Design Your Slab), the Attract magnetic installation system, Hypertouch smart-sensor integration and Moonlight backlit slabs. The exhibit also spotlights three new Stonepeak collections—Mystère, Lythos and Victorian Stone—offering on-trend, versatile and durable solutions suitable for a wide range of design applications.

Coverings 2025 Best Booth Awards WOW Design

WOW Design (Booth 5107) was presented a Best in Show award at Coverings 2025 for its imaginative “Unexpected Greenhouse” theme. The booth reinterprets the concept of a greenhouse as a dynamic creative environment—one where trend-setting ideas and ceramic innovations are thoughtfully cultivated. The thematic display, serving as a metaphor for the brand’s influence on future tile trends, showcases 18 ceramic and porcelain tile collections and products, offering a rich, textural journey through the brand’s latest products.

Those exploring WOW Design’s booth are welcomed by a central feature wall made of ceramic lattice tiles from the Reef collection, a versatile product suitable for both indoor and outdoor uses. Coverings 2025 Best Booth Awards Atlas Concorde

Atlas Concorde (Booth 1725) earned one of the Best Display awards for its captivating and architecturally inspired exhibit, Atlas Concorde City. A sequence of interconnected rooms and gathering spaces are seen with varying heights to evoke the look and feel of a modern cityscape. Each room represents a distinct collection, offering attendees a walkable design experience that brings the full Atlas Concorde ecosystem to life.

Featured collections within Atlas Concorde’s booth include Marvel Diva, Log, Boost Expression and Boost Icor, displayed alongside a full range of porcelain-dressed furniture pieces—sinks, vanities, shelves and tables—from the Atlas Concorde Habitat line. The exhibit also showcases a full range of Atlas Concorde USA porcelain pavers as well as two Atlas Concorde USA collections—Legacy Marblestone and Legacy Limestone.

Coverings 2025 Best Booth Awards Venux

Venux (Booth 4641), another Best Display award-winning booth at Coverings 2025, captivates attendees with its immersive and sculptural design concept entitled “Glacier.” The booth presents a creative dialog between architecture and products that invites visitors into the interior of the earth through a design that combines strength, solidity and purity.

Visitors to the Venux booth are immersed in a multi-sensory experience as they step into the heart of a glacier through a magnificent entrance clad in six-meter-high Breccia Oniciata stone. From there, they follow an imposing path lined with polished gloss-finish Venux sintered stone, with collections that seek a mix between black and white. The exhibit space also features a dedicated work area where all the available finishes of the brand are displayed in a spectacular ceramoteca fashion.

Coverings 2025 Best Booth Awards MILEstone

MILE®stone, distributed by Florim USA (Booth 2612), received a Best Display award for its compelling focus on sustainability and forward-thinking design. The booth was conceived as a stunning structural canopy, evoking the essence of both indoor and outdoor environments while enveloping visitors in a progression of experiential settings that blend practical, eco-conscious design with artistic appeal.

Attendees entering MILE®stone’s booth are guided to the right into the Untamed Gallery, a curated series of spaces featuring the brand’s Untamed collection. Featured products—Roam, Drift, Flourish and Wander—are showcased in various formats and colors within different lifestyle vignettes, including a grass-inspired and spa-like loggia with southwestern flair. Toward the rear of the booth, the company’s Earthen collection is prominently displayed in numerous rich color options, available in both matte and grip finishes, with seamless transitions from floor to wall applications.
