Houzz Inc. announced significant updates to the Clipper and Selections sourcing and procurement features within Houzz Pro, the project management and design software that helps pros win projects, collaborate with clients and teams and run more efficient and profitable businesses. The Clipper is now available on mobile with a native, AI-powered experience in the Houzz Pro app, while new Selections tools streamline the workflow from product discovery through project execution.

The AI-powered Clipper is integrated directly into the Houzz Pro app and allows professionals to capture product details, pricing and images from any mobile browser. Pros can quickly save products to their library and add them to proposals, selection boards and project budgets without installing extensions or additional tools.

“The future of sourcing is mobile, AI-powered and completely seamless, and now we’ve brought this to the Houzz Pro app,” said Alon Cohen, Houzz co-founder and CEO. “With the mobile Clipper, it’s easier for pros to capture products from anywhere and easily move from inspiration to execution. Combined with new selection board templates and placeholders, Houzz Pro provides a more complete solution for managing sourcing, selections and project budgets in one place.”

New Houzz Pro Selections updates include the ability to clip from URL, add Selections board placeholders and save Selections board templates.

Pros can source products in seconds by pasting a product URL directly into a Selections board, allowing them to capture product information from any website without installing extensions.

Users can also add placeholders before final product decisions are made, helping teams track quantities and budget allowances early in the project. Once a final product is selected, all the images and details replace the placeholder while preserving quantities, comments and financial data.

Finally, professionals can now save existing Selection Boards as templates or create new templates from scratch for a repeatable selection process. Paired with placeholders, templates provide a roadmap of the items needed for a project so teams can stay organized and ensure nothing is missed.

“The Houzz Pro Clipper is a lifesaver,” said Jonathan Gordon, founder of Design by the Jonathans. “It gathers all of the information for you while you’re on the go. It’s fast and easy to use. When you clip a product to your library, all the images, descriptions and pricing are ready to pull into a proposal.”

The Houzz Pro Clipper and Selections tools are available to all Custom package subscribers. The tools are fully integrated into Houzz Pro and complement a robust set of features that help pros manage the complete project lifecycle, including Estimates, Invoicing, Takeoffs, 3D Floor Plans, Mood Boards, Online Payments and more.

Materio, a project operating system for interior designers and design-build teams, has named Jaime Brown as head of sales & partnerships. In this role, Brown will lead Materio’s inbound sales strategy, customer engagement and partnerships, reflecting the brand’s continued investment in building a leadership team rooted in the realities of the design and build industry.

A recognized leader in design technology and strategic partnerships, Brown brings more than a decade of experience helping interior design and design-build firms modernize operations and scale with purpose-built systems. Prior to joining Materio, Brown held senior leadership roles at Studio Designer and DesignDocs.

“Jaime brings a rare combination of powerful industry credibility and firsthand experience helping designers actually implement the tools meant to support their work,” said Mary Beth Chau, co-founder and CEO of Materio. “She has sold, supported and partnered with many of the platforms designers use today, which gives her a clear perspective on where those tools fall short, and why Materio is fundamentally different. Jaime came highly recommended by partners we trust, and her strategic mindset and clear understanding of customer needs position her perfectly to help take Materio’s growth to the next level.”

Materio was founded by Mary Beth Chau and Thomas Chau after experiencing firsthand how fragile the building process can feel from the homeowner’s side. During their own New York City apartment renovation, they saw how much responsibility designers and builders carry without a central hub for project planning. Critical details lived across text messages, emails and PDFs, making it harder to maintain confidence as projects evolved. With careers in building large-scale software systems, they saw how easily even well-run projects can be derailed when information is scattered.

“Materio equips professionals with real-time insights, meaning when one design element changes, the effects ripple through the rest of the project – from purchasing to billing – helping ensure that what’s designed, approved, and ordered stays aligned as work moves forward,” said Chau. “Jaime can speak with authority to the Materio difference and how a dependable, centralized project delivery system can help designers feel more confident running every facet of their businesses.”

In her role as head of sales & partnerships, Brown will lead Materio’s inbound sales strategy, overseeing the full sales pipeline while driving consistent, scalable revenue growth. She will also build and manage strategic partnerships across the design and construction ecosystem to expand brand awareness, strengthen go-to-market efforts and unlock new growth opportunities.

“I’ve spent my career working alongside designers as they try to scale their businesses across a patchwork of disconnected tools,” said Brown. “This work is personal to me; my mom is a retired interior designer, and I’ve seen how the right tools can both empower creative thinking and meaningfully support a designer’s livelihood. I’m excited to help more firms discover a better way to run their businesses and to build partnerships that expand Materio’s impact across the industry.”

AI for Interior Designers, founded by interior designer and educator Jenna Gaidusek, recently announced the official launch of the AI for Interior Designers Certificate Program. This program is a multi-semester, CEU infused certification built specifically for professionals in the interior design industry seeking to integrate AI into their professional workflows with confidence, clarity and ethical grounding.

The new program distinguishes itself by combining formal AI education with the debut of the AI App Studio, a suite of AI-powered applications created by a designer tech team immersed in the industry. This pairing offers a powerful learning experience. Designers do not just learn how AI works but also apply it through tools tailored to the creative and technical demands of real interior design projects.

“Designers have been asking for practical AI tools and trustworthy education,” said Jenna Gaidusek, founder and president of AI for Interior Designers. “So we built both. This certificate program gives designers structure, guidance and community, while the App Studio gives them tools that actually support their creative process, not replace it.”

A CEU Infused Program Built for Working Designers

Two years after launching her first AI for Interior Designers class, Gaidusek is introducing the Certificate Program, a culmination of everything she has learned, taught and built during that time. The program blends live instruction, hands-on practice and real-world application tailored specifically for interior designers.

Each semester includes a three-week series of six live 90-minute classes, along with three optional live makeup sessions. With the full schedule, semesters span approximately 90 days, and quarterly enrollment provides access from the open enrollment period through the end of the semester. Participants also receive recordings, transcripts and downloadable resources; access to the AI APP Studio and IDCEC CEU credits for select live sessions. Enrollment is flexible with single-semester, annual, quarterly or team options.

The curriculum covers ethical use of AI, creative workflows, project integration, client communication, visualization, business applications and emerging tools that are all structured to align with the natural progression of a designer’s work.

“Our industry is moving fast,” said Gaidusek. “Designers deserve a place where they can learn together, stay ahead of the changes and feel good about how they’re using AI. This program is that place.”

Introducing AI App Studio for Interior Designers

Included with enrollment, the AI App Studio is a groundbreaking addition to the program. This dedicated suite of AI tools is created specifically for interior designers and powered by Google Gemini’s advanced AI capabilities.

The first tool in the App Studio, Project Inspo Assistant, acts as a creative partner for designers, transforming ideas, brand assets and reference images into client-ready visuals.

Key features include guided design modes, such as Mood Boards, Flat Lays and Paint Palette Exploration; luxury room renders and short-form video animations; conversational and region-specific editing; a designer-friendly interface with dark/light modes; export-ready assets for client presentations and thoughtfully set daily limits to promote ethical and intentional usage.

“This App Studio is something our industry has never had before,” said Gaidusek. “I build apps as part of my own workflow. Instead of going to a chat thread in ChatGPT or Gemini, I ask how I can turn that process into a repeatable, visual format through an app.

“Those tools evolve inside the App Studio, shaped by continuous user feedback. These are not generic AI features. They are intentional, specialized and built to solve the real, everyday challenges designers face.”

A Program Built From Experience and Industry Need

Gaidusek created AI for Interior Designers after recognizing how quickly AI was reshaping the field and how few designers had access to training that met them where they were. She launched her first class, a Midjourney course, in Nov. 2023 and has been leading the industry in AI education for designers ever since. As both a practicing designer and a natural educator, she saw a widening gap in skills and confidence and set out to close it.

“I want designers to feel excited about AI, not afraid of it,” she said. “AI should support our creativity, not compete with it. This program gives designers the education, tools and community they need to feel confident heading into the future.

Houzz Pro partnered with five leading design and construction firms to reimagine iconic TV settings as real-world living spaces using the Houzz Pro 3D Floor Plan tool. The pros took inspiration from “Gilmore Girls,” “Yellowstone,” “Mad Men,” “Friends” and “Game of Thrones” to prepare fresh, functional and unforgettable spaces.

“Houzz Pro’s 3D Floor Plans empower pros to turn imagination into reality for their clients,” said Liza Hausman, Houzz vice president of Industry Marketing. “Pros use 3D floor plans with current and prospective clients because seeing a design come to life builds confidence, creates excitement and ultimately, accelerates approvals. With AI-powered features, pros can quickly transform 2D floor plans into 3D models and renderings. These rooms are a fun way of showing off the power of our 3D tools.”

An essential part of Houzz Pro’s suite of project management and design tools, the 3D Floor Planner makes it easy for pros to create and embed 3D floor plans within Mood Boards and Selections Boards for a powerfully visual presentation. The Selections tool organizes all of the product and material options in one place online and is the single source of truth for product and material choices. Once clients approve the design, pros can turn any 3D floor plan created in Houzz Pro into an estimate or proposal, saving hours of work and delivering project materials to the client more quickly. With Takeoffs, pros can quickly calculate the exact quantities of materials needed directly from their 3D floor plans, helping them order accurately, reduce waste and estimate more precisely.

“We rely on Houzz Pro every day to streamline our processes, which has homeowners and builders turning to us time and time again for new builds, remodels and commercial projects,” said Azelia Dickson, principal designer for Interiors by Design.

See how the pros used Houzz Pro 3D Floor Plans to transform beloved television sets from  Central Perk to Westeros into home design.

Kitchen inspired by “Yellowstone” | Designed by May Construction

For May Construction, designing a “Yellowstone”-inspired kitchen (pictured above) meant creating a space that felt both rugged and refined. Stone finishes, exposed beams and modern luxury countertops blend the ranch’s rugged surroundings with upscale functionality, while details like hanging hats and even a refrigerator filled with fresh milk and marinating meat reflect the Dutton Ranch’s role as a working cattle operation.

“I really wanted to include a butler’s pantry,” said Donna Gutto, designer at May Construction. “Gator seemed like an impressive chef on the show with many key moments taking place around his cooking. And the saloon doors took me back to the 1923 prequel series.”

Expansive windows and artful exterior views connect the kitchen to the sweeping Montana landscape, grounding the design in its cinematic inspiration.

Houzz Pro’s 3D Floor Planner serves as a vital tool in communicating with clients.

“As a design-build firm, we take the clients from the very initial design meetings into construction,” said Gutto. “Houzz Pro’s 3D Floor Plans help clients visualize and collaborate with our design team in real time to get a full, accurate and realistic understanding of the layout and materials before construction starts. This visualization allows for open communication, design adjustments and a higher degree of confidence in the final outcome.”

Living room inspired by “Friends” | Designed by Allito Spaces

Allito Spaces channeled the cozy, eclectic ambiance of “Friends” by blending Central Perk’s coffee house charm with the comfort of home. With Houzz Pro’s 3D Floor Planner, the team explored seating arrangements and bar placement to ensure the layout flows as seamlessly as the conversations that once unfolded on that famous orange couch.

Family Room inspired by “Gilmore Girls” | Designed by Interior Impressions

Interior Impressions imagined a family room for Rory Gilmore, blending nostalgic warmth with sophisticated charm. The layout recalls the original set, with a fireplace, built-in cabinets, French doors, generous windows, and graceful arched openings that echo Lorelai and Rory’s beloved home.

Bedroom inspired by “Mad Men” | Designed by Honeybee Interiors

TV Shows Reimagined with Houzz Pro

Honeybee Interiors reimagined midcentury style through a modern lens, designing a primary bedroom that channels the polished sophistication of “Mad Men.” The room is grounded by a wall of fluted wood paneling that adds depth, rhythm and architectural character, complemented by rich walnut furniture and smooth neutral textiles. Houzz Pro’s 3D Floor Planner played an important role in visualizing the balance of tone, texture and proportion.

Parlor inspired by “Game of Thrones” | Designed by Interiors by Design

Interiors by Design transformed the legendary throne room from “Game of Thrones” into a grand parlor and office — a space that commands authority while celebrating old-world craftsmanship. The room pairs deep, color-drenched walls with towering arched windows that flood the space with light, balancing drama and livability. At its core stands a monumental marble fireplace framed by polished stone columns that anchor the room with power and permanence.

Whether inspired by small-town charm, ranch life or medieval drama, these spaces highlight the power of storytelling through interior design and how Houzz Pro 3D Floor Plans can bring bold visions to life.

Houzz Inc. has introduced outdoor features for the 3D Floor Plan tool in Houzz Pro, the all-in-one business management and marketing solution for residential construction and design professionals. Pros can now create outdoor spaces in their 3D Floor Plans to help clients understand how a design flows from the interior of their home to its exterior. The new features help pros to showcase the size, layout and design of an outdoor space, so clients can feel confident moving forward with the project.

“Expanding the Houzz Pro 3D Floor Planner to support outdoor spaces was a natural progression of the tool and a top request from current pro users,” said Alon Cohen, Houzz co-founder and president. “Homeowners are prioritizing outdoor living and benefit from having robust visuals of finished spaces.”

Pros can now create outdoor spaces, such as decks, patios, lawns and driveways, using a library of materials including pavers, ground cover, lawn, gravel, decking and pavement. Those spaces can be subdivided to display different surface materials, such as paved areas adjacent to lawn or decking. Pros can also add pergolas, swimming pools and fire pits, and outdoor furnishings like tables, chairs, umbrellas and more from the Houzz Shop

“The Houzz Pro 3D Floor Plan tool is easy to learn and cost effective to use, making 3D visualizations more accessible to pros and their clients,” said Cohen. “With the new Houzz Pro features, pros can expand the area of the home included in their 3D Floor Plans to offer current and prospective clients a more comprehensive visualization of how a design flows from interior living spaces to outdoor living spaces.”

The Houzz Pro 3D Floor Planner empowers pros to quickly and easily communicate their project vision, for both indoor and outdoor spaces, to current or prospective clients through 2D floor plans and 3D models. Pros can bring 3D floor plans to life in dollhouse and walkthrough views or present a life-sized augmented reality tour on-site at the project using the mobile app. Also just released for the 3D Floor Planner, pros and their clients can make comments directly on floor plans to improve communication and coordination with the broader teams.

The outdoor-enhanced Houzz Pro 3D Floor Plan tool is available to all Houzz Pro subscribers around the world, making it easy for pros to create and share 3D floor plans for outdoor projects and other interior rooms to use with Takeoffs and present to clients alongside Mood Boards and Selections.

Trimble SketchUp’s 3D Warehouse, the world’s largest free 3D model library, improves accessibility through a new visually-driven search function called Image Search. Users can now take a photo of an object or drop and drag an existing image into the 3D Warehouse’s search bar, and AI will quickly sift through millions of pre-built models to pinpoint ideal matches. The new feature is built to help architects and designers speed up their workflows and more easily specify new products for their designs.

“3D Warehouse used to be entirely based on keyword search, where you had to type in exactly what you were looking for in order to generate the right match,” said Steve Guzman, product manager for 3D Warehouse. “3D Warehouse Image Search eliminates that requirement, allowing users to overcome language barriers and incorrect search queries by matching images with models. Now, designers can more easily source 3D models or find alternatives for their clients who are often looking for very specific objects to incorporate into their designs.”

As well as user-generated models, Image Search results include real-world objects from building product manufacturers and parametrically configurable objects. On top of Image Search, users can now easily search, filter, and download materials and texture swatches by simply typing the name of the material into the search bar and clicking the Materials tab.

“SketchUp’s ethos is purposely built around creating products that enable designers to be more nimble so that they can ideate and iterate faster,” said Sumele Adelana, senior product marketing manager for Trimble SketchUp. “3D Warehouse Image Search builds on that principle by removing some of the tedious and time-consuming aspects of conceptual design, while also giving clients access to real, purchasable objects that can be easily incorporated into the design of their project.”

3D Warehouse Image Search is available to current Trimble SketchUp subscribers on desktop, web, and mobile. Those interested in subscribing to SketchUp can start a free trial here.

Cyncly, a leading global provider of software and content solutions that help make spaces amazing, has announced changes to its executive leadership team that will enable the organization to scale and execute its plans for growth. Matthew Blosl has been appointed as chief revenue officer (CRO), and James Hamilton has been appointed as chief operating officer (COO).

“We are excited to be enhancing our executive team as Cyncly undertakes an ambitious multi-year plan to extend our leadership in software and content solutions for the home improvement industry,” said David Tombre, CEO. “With seasoned leaders in place to scale and execute our plans, we can be confident in building on our customer-first strategy, offering a greater breadth of integrated solutions to support customer success.”

Blosl is joining Cyncly as a proven executive with more than 20 years of experience building, leading and scaling organizations in high-growth environments. His expertise and passion for developing and implementing growth strategies for complex sales and client success teams will support Cyncly’s growth. Key priorities for the CRO will include executing Cyncly’s go-to-market strategy, delivering a seamless experience along the complete customer lifecycle and growing the customer base.

As COO, Hamilton will work closely with the CEO on group-wide strategic prioritizations and lead efforts to enhance Cyncly’s customer-first strategy. He will also drive Cyncly’s M&A agenda to create greater value for customers, anticipate market changes and shape future needs. Hamilton will maintain his responsibilities as chief financial officer (CFO) in addition to his role as COO on an interim basis until a new CFO is appointed.

The expanded executive leadership team will further support and enable Cyncly’s business units—Kitchen, Bathroom and Furniture Retail; Kitchen, Bathroom and Furniture Manufacturing; Windows, Doors and Glass; and Flooring—to apply their industry expertise in support of customers at every stage of the home improvement process.

Houzz Inc. has introduced the Selections tool within Houzz Pro, the all-in-one business management and marketing software for residential remodeling and design professionals. The Houzz Pro Selections tool provides a collaborative platform for custom builders and remodelers and their clients to review and agree on products, materials and other finishes.

“Builders and remodelers help homeowners to make hundreds, if not thousands, of product material and finish decisions for their home,” said Alon Cohen, Houzz co-founder and president. “The Houzz Pro Selections tool simplifies the decision-making process by organizing all of the options in one place online. It also becomes the single source of truth for all of the choices that were made.”

With the Selections tool, builders and remodelers can create digital product and material presentations for each room, area or product type in a project. Those presentations can include all of the recommended product and material options with key information like price and brand, as well as design elements to help clients see the bigger design picture, such as Houzz Pro 3D Floor Plans and Mood Boards. With the Budget Tracker, both contractor and client can see the impact of each selection on the budget or allowances for the space.

Customers can review, communicate feedback and approve or decline each product and finish for their project online or from their phone, and in one place using the Houzz Pro Selections tool. Builders and remodelers can easily reference all communication for each product, including internal and client-facing notes, at any time. Any approved items can be converted to an estimate, invoice or purchase order with one click.

“Selections has really streamlined our design team’s process and workflow, and we love that it’s so easy to use,” said Danny Wang, president of DW Development and principal designer of Danny Wang Design. “For design-build firms like ours, there’s huge value in documenting the interactions with our clients together with their final decisions. Plus, our clients and our design and our build teams are always on the same page because they can reference those selections anytime in the Houzz Pro platform.”

The Houzz Pro Selections tool is available to all builders and remodelers who have a “Pro” or “Ultimate” level subscription to Houzz Pro in the U.S. It is fully integrated into Houzz Pro, making it easy to move from the planning phase into construction.

Houzz Pro helps residential construction and design professionals run an efficient, profitable business and makes it easy for them to reach new customers, all while delivering a standout client experience. The software, priced to fit any budget or team, also includes scheduling, daily logs, time tracking, online invoicing and payments and other project management, design and business tools.
