LX Hausys America Inc. announced that its Viatera Taj Duna quartz has received a 2026 Green Good Design Award in the Green Products category.

The award is presented by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. Founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, the Good Design program is the world’s oldest awards program recognizing design excellence.

Now in its 18th year, the awards highlight products and projects that advance sustainable design and environmental responsibility. For 2026, the program received hundreds of submissions from more than 30 countries. Members of The European Centre’s International Advisory Committee served as the jury and selected more than 200 products, programs and designs as outstanding examples of green design.

Viatera Taj Duna was recognized for its combination of natural stone-inspired aesthetics, advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainability-focused material innovation. Inspired by Taj Mahal quartzite, Taj Duna features warm, earthy tones and soft veining designed to create a calm aesthetic suited for kitchens, bathrooms, hospitality environments and other high-use interior spaces.

“We are honored that Viatera Taj Duna has been recognized with a 2026 Green Good Design Award,” said Mike Morici, vice president of surfaces and channel management at LX Hausys America. “This recognition reflects our commitment to developing surface solutions that combine design innovation, performance and more sustainable materials.”

Taj Duna is manufactured using NeoQ technology, LX Hausys’ next-generation innovation that incorporates up to 90% post-consumer recycled content while delivering the same quality and performance as premium quartz. This approach helps reduce reliance on virgin resources while maintaining the visual quality and durability expected from engineered surfaces.

The surface also features TrueView technology, LX Hausys’ high-resolution digital infusion technology for Viatera surfaces. It delivers natural stone realism and deeper visual continuity while maintaining the durability and sustainability of quartz. TrueView technology also enables Thru Vein, which carries the pattern through the body of the slab to support consistent veining across edges and surfaces.

Taj Duna is available in a polished finish in 63-by-126-in. slabs in 2- or 3-cm thicknesses, offering flexibility for residential and commercial applications.

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) proudly announces the 2026 National Remodeler of the Year (RotY™) Award winners, recognizing the most innovative, expertly crafted, and transformative remodeling projects across the United States.

Selected from a highly competitive pool of entries, these award-winning projects represent the pinnacle of design, craftsmanship and project execution in today’s remodeling industry. Each winner has demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, creative problem-solving and a commitment to delivering outstanding results for homeowners.

“The National Remodeler of the Year winners truly represent the best of the best,” said Tracy Wright, CAE, CNAP, NARI Co-CEO. “These projects showcase not only incredible craftsmanship, but also the innovation, professionalism and dedication that define NARI members and elevate the remodeling industry as a whole.”

Recognizing Excellence Across the Industry

The RotY Awards are NARI’s most prestigious national honors, judged by industry experts and peers through a rigorous evaluation process. Projects are assessed on design innovation; problem-solving and functionality; aesthetic appeal and craftsmanship and execution.

This year’s competition was especially strong, with hundreds of submissions nationwide. From those entries, more than 159 Regional winners and over 40 National winners were selected, collectively representing more than $138 million in remodeling projects.

In addition to project-based honors, NARI also recognized outstanding individuals, companies and chapters through its Achievement Awards, which celebrate excellence beyond the jobsite. These awards highlight leadership, innovation, community impact, workforce development and contributions that strengthen the remodeling industry as a whole.

Achievement Award recipients exemplify the values that define NARI – professionalism, integrity and a commitment to advancing the industry – demonstrating that success is measured not only in projects completed, but in the positive impact made on teams, communities and the future of the trades.

Celebrating the Industry’s Finest

The 2026 National RotY winners and Achievement Award recipients were honored during the Evening of Excellence at the NARI Annual Conference, an event dedicated to celebrating the achievements and impact of remodeling professionals who are shaping the future of the industry.

Together, these awardees represent the full spectrum of excellence within NARI – from exceptional project execution to leadership, innovation and industry advancement.

These award-winning companies and individuals exemplify what it means to deliver Remodeling Done Right™: combining technical expertise, ethical business practices and a deep commitment to client satisfaction.

Setting the Standard for Remodeling Nationwide

Each winning project not only transforms a home, but also reinforces the value of working with qualified professionals who adhere to NARI’s strict Code of Ethics and high standards.

From stunning kitchen transformations to complex whole-home renovations, and from workforce development leaders to industry advocates, this year’s awardees demonstrate how NARI members continue to raise the bar for quality, safety, innovation, and professionalism across the remodeling industry.

When designing kitchens and baths, balancing accessible storage with high-end style is a constant challenge. Felicitas Lechner, marketing manager for Hettich America, recently shared insights on our “From the Tap” podcast into a product turning heads – and cabinets – in the industry. The FurnSpin was named the 2025 KBB Kitchen Product of the Year and completely redefines how we approach traditional cabinetry.

Evolving Beyond the Lazy Susan

Born from the success of Hettich’s appliance-focused ComfortSpin, the FurnSpin takes rotational storage to the next level. Instead of an internal spinning shelf sitting inside a static box, the entire cabinet body rotates 180 degrees on its own axis. With a simple push, closed storage effortlessly transforms into open shelving. This synchronized swivel movement eliminates the physical limitations of sliding, folding or hinged doors, helping designers maximize square footage in tight or uniquely shaped spaces.

Unmatched Aesthetic Versatility

From an aesthetic standpoint, the FurnSpin system offers total creative freedom. Because the hardware only requires attachments at the top and bottom of the unit, cabinet makers can build the rotating body out of nearly any material. As long as the unit has the freestanding clearance to swivel, it can seamlessly integrate into luxury projects.

A Bright Future for FurnSpin

For designers eager to see what is next, Hettich is preparing a new iteration that brings built-in brilliance to the mechanism. A forthcoming illuminated version will feature automatic lighting activated by the swivel motion, complete with completely concealed cable management for a flawless, modern finish.

KBB Product Awards

As Lechner noted, earning recognition through prestigious competitions like the KBB Product Awards plays a massive role in building brand trust and highlighting these industry-shifting innovations. The KBB Product Awards program celebrates excellence across people, projects and products, offering a platform for designers and manufacturers to showcase their most impactful ideas. For designers, awards like these signal best-in-class innovation and provide an ever-expanding toolkit to bring brilliant client visions to life.

Presented by ADAC (Atlanta Decorative Arts Center) in collaboration with VERANDA, the 2026 Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards were revealed last night during an elegant, celebratory gala at the Atlanta History Center. The annual awards celebrate the Southeast’s most influential firms and individuals, recognizing exceptional talent that continues to shape and elevate the region’s design landscape. A distinguished panel of judges selected this year’s winners across architecture, contract design, and residential design from a highly talented pool of 17 finalists representing the region. Leading up to the gala, finalists were recognized on Wednesday evening with an intimate celebration at Made Goods during ADAC’s annual spring market, DESIGN ADAC.

The 2026 Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year winners are:

Architect: D. Stanley Dixon Architect | Atlanta
Contract Design: The Design Atelier | Atlanta
Residential Design: Melanie Turner Interiors | Atlanta

“It’s incredibly rewarding to see both legacy and momentum reflected in this year’s winners,” said Katie Miner, ADAC General Manager. “Both D. Stanley Dixon Architect and Melanie Turner Interiors have been recognized in these awards before, and their continued wins speak to a sustained level of excellence that continues to shape the design landscape in the Southeast. At the same time, it’s especially exciting to celebrate The Design Atelier as a first-time winner after years of consistent finalist recognition – particularly as they’ve expanded into the contract space. It’s inspiring to see their team grow in this space and execute it so successfully, which speaks to the evolving strength and versatility of design talent across the region.”

With more than 120 entries, this year’s distinguished finalists and winners were selected by a team of top industry professionals, including VERANDA Editor-in-Chief, Steele Marcoux, VERANDA Executive Editor, Ellen McGauley, Peter Dunham & Associates Founder, Peter Dunham, and Kligerman Architect & Design Founder, Tom Kligerman.

On our most recent From the Tap podcast, KBB had a chance to speak to reps from the KBIS 2026 Innovation Hour winners on what makes their winning products stand out in terms of audience need, aesthetics and technological advancements.

LG’s SIGNATURE 21-cubic-foot Counter-Depth with Zero Clearance 4-Door French Door Refrigerator with Thin Door Design won the “I’d Spec That Tomorrow” category; Caesarstone Icon won the “Most Innovative” category; and MAGPPIE Silverstone won the “Most Unexpected” category.

These standouts are changing the direction of home design – each raising the bar for performance, health, and aesthetics.

LG SIGNATURE: Redefining Seamless Integration

This year’s “I’d Spec That Tomorrow” winner, the LG SIGNATURE 21-cubic-foot Counter-Depth Refrigerator, creates a seamless built-in look with the flexibility of a freestanding appliance. Key features include Zero-Clearance doors (designed for truly flush installation), a Craft Ice maker crafting slow-melting ice spheres and a Full Convert Drawer with four different temperature zones. Elegant gold accents and a minimalist profile add a sophisticated touch, while LG’s innovative design solves the classic challenge of integrated refrigeration: doors that open fully, even next to cabinetry. For those craving refined design with smart performance, this is the new standard.

Caesarstone Icon: Rethinking the Surface

Caesarstone’s “Most Innovative” win belongs to Icon, their trailblazing surface made without crystalline silica – a major milestone for health and sustainability. Inspired by nature’s colors and the play of light in stone and water, Icon challenges expectations with rich, warm tones and striking depth. This launch appeals to designers and homeowners who want surfaces that make a statement and support evolving wellness standards. Ready to see the kitchen in a new light? Icon might be your answer.

The Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) continues to serve as a hub for the Southeast’s design community, bringing together leading designers and architects through its signature programming, including the highly anticipated Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards, co-sponsored by Veranda. The annual awards recognize designers and architects whose work is shaping the future of design across the region and beyond.

ADAC announces the 17 finalists representing 16 firms from five states across three categories: residential interior design, contract interior design and architecture. This year, 127 entries poured in from nine states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, showcasing the awards’ reach across the entire region.

From these entries, finalists were selected by a respected panel of industry experts, including Steele Marcoux, editor-in-chief, Veranda; Ellen McGauley, executive editor, Veranda; Peter Dunham, founder, Peter Dunham & Associates; and Tom Kligerman, founder, Kligerman Architecture & Design.

As the Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards continue to evolve, so does the caliber of work submitted. This year, judges noted an especially strong pool of entries, particularly within the residential category, resulting in a distinguished group of finalists. This increased rigor reflects both the volume of submissions and the rising level of design excellence across the Southeast, where firms are pushing creative boundaries and delivering thoughtful, high-impact work.

“The Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards continue to reflect the strength and evolution of design across our region,” said Katie Miner, general manager of ADAC. “Each year, the work reaches new heights, making the selection process increasingly thoughtful and competitive. This year’s finalists embody a remarkable range of perspectives and expertise, reinforcing that design in the Southeast is not only thriving, it’s raising the bar.”

The 2026 finalists represent a dynamic cross-section of the region’s design community, from established leaders to emerging voices, including five firms being recognized as finalists for the first time. Together, they underscore the breadth of talent shaping today’s design environment and the continued momentum of a program that draws both new perspectives and returning innovators.

Decocer’s installation has been awarded the Best Booth Award at Coverings 2026. Under the title “Echoes of the Earth,” the stand, designed by Héctor Ruiz Velázquez, is conceived as a material-driven manifesto that celebrates expressiveness.

Decocer’s collections stand out for their material-focused and contemporary style, where small formats, reliefs and textures are combined with palettes ranging from neutrals to bold tones.

At Coverings 2026 in Las Vegas this week, Decocer’s stand is located within the Spanish Pavilion organized by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones. The Best Booth Award, one of the show’s most prestigious recognitions, was awarded for the proposal, which is accompanied by a carefully curated selection of collections that reinforce Decocer’s international positioning in the field of small-format ceramic design.

Ceramics as a spatial experience

Designed by Héctor Ruiz Velázquez, the stand is conceived as an installation that goes beyond its exhibition function to become a true architectural experience. Through a material-driven and contemporary language, the space explores the ability of ceramics to shape atmospheres, create spatial sequences and engage the visitor’s sensory perception.

The proposal highlights the expressive potential of small-format ceramics, demonstrating how repetition, relief and texture can transform the material into a powerful architectural resource. In line with Decocer’s philosophy, the stand is conceived as a versatile system, capable of adapting, evolving and engaging in dialogue with different contexts.

Featured collections: material, texture and color

Decocer’s proposal at Coverings brings together a selection of collections defined by their material character, tactile richness and compositional versatility. Small-format tiles emerge as a language capable of shaping contemporary projects with a distinctive identity.

Featured collections include Eterea, a reinterpretation of marble through lightness; Lythos, stone in its essential state; Mood, which uses rhythm and color as design tools; Sienna, featuring the warmth of fired clay reinterpreted in a contemporary key; Talya, highlighting craft tradition and contemporary expressiveness; Vibe, offering graphic energy and compositional precision; and several others.

With more than 35 years of experience, Decocer has established itself as an international reference in the design and manufacturing of custom small-format ceramics. Its ability to tailor shapes, colors, finishes and reliefs positions the company as a strategic partner for manufacturers, distributors and specifiers in more than 20 countries.

Its participation in Coverings reinforces its commitment to the international market, particularly North America, where demand for versatile, expressive and high-quality ceramic solutions continues to grow.

KraftMaid Cabinetry, a leader in semi-custom cabinetry and part of the Cabinetworks Group portfolio, recently announced the winner of its 2025 Kitchen of the Year award. The winning kitchen, co-created by designers Lindsey Harris and Susan Rogers of Anderson Design Center in Hattiesburg, Miss., was selected for its timeless, classic charm.

The annual award is in its second year. Entries were reviewed by a seven-member judging panel that consisted of industry experts within KraftMaid Cabinetry, including designers, customer strategy leaders and brand leaders. While reviewing submissions, the judges considered criteria such as creative use of product, overall design aesthetic/on-trend design, before-and-after transformation and creative solutions to complex design challenges.

Winners were then determined by vote of the panelists.

“Utilizing KraftMaid’s Putnam maple door style and pairing the brand’s Cottage and Shortbread finishes, the winning design was celebrated by judges as a masterclass in modern warmth,” said Alexa Noel, senior director of KraftMaid brand and product. “The design blended clean lines and natural texture with effortless sophistication, and we applaud the designers for bringing their customer’s vision to life.”

More than 150 kitchen designers from across the United States submitted entries in this year’s contest. As winners, Harris and Rogers received a trophy and a cash prize. They will also appear in KraftMaid marketing materials, including brochures, the brand’s website and social media, where their design will be featured as an example of the beauty and functionality that KraftMaid cabinets and a skilled designer can bring to a kitchen.

“Our client wanted a new home that blended modern and world-traveled tastes,” according to co-designers Harris and Rogers. “Plus, they needed enough room to enjoy retirement and host loved ones. We love the amount of storage and the overall layout, and we paid a lot of attention to details like how our clients actually use their kitchen and where storage, work and prep areas should be located.”

Harris, a resident of Hattiesburg, holds a degree in interior design and has specialized in creating spaces that meet the needs of clients at Anderson Design Center for more than 20 years. Rogers also holds an interior design degree augmented by a minor in architectural engineering and specializes in both residential and commercial design.
